Well, here's a couple of shots and their explanations. A couple are mine, a couple are from others.
I took this shot of a moose walking down Spenard Rd in Anchorage one February night at about 1:00 while I was on a late night Taco Bell run when I was in town.
This is Felix, a maintenance guy in our school holding one of the many salmon he caught. He gave me that one and I couldn't refuse his generous offer (even though I hate salmon - and yes, I'm serious.)
We had a "Cultural Activities Day" at the school, one of the aides brought in a seal and showed how to skin and butcher it.
My dad took this shot in the early 1960s while he was out caribou hunting. You can see less than half the herd on that hill, it extends way over the top. Some caribou herds are HUGE.
This moose was taken within a relatively short distance of Anchorage.
This bear is the stuff of internet legends. All kinds of stories have been posted about how it attacked and the guy was forced to kill it with a Cub Scout pocket knife and a blowgun he got from a box of Cracker Jacks. In truth, it was legally taken by a U.S Airman with a .338 Winchester Magnum (the same caliber I carry huting big game up here) while hunting on an Island in Prince William Sound.
