Just came across this and thought the group might find it interesting. "There's nothing new under the sun."

Nope, nothing new I've seen the modern recreation, but I can't remember in which museum. Cambridge ? Köln?

The spoon I think extends and the earwax scoop puts the Victorinox toothpick to shame. (Somebody said its for scooping gunk from bottles, BORING).

Roman soldiers often carried folding saws. (I think the second empire ruled from Constantinople).
Theres an account of Persians carrying folding blades with hoofpicks.
Great post, thankyou.

My brother in-law says Cambridge. My memory isn’t terrible but I used to travel a bit and just can’t remember.
Edit: There have been a few found apparently, even a replica you can buy for €250.

It's very interesting that even two thousand years ago, people had thoughts of combining tools into one small package that was easy to carry. In a non mechanized age, with everything done by hand with simple tools, it must have been extremely difficult to make, yet it was worthwhile because somebody wanted the concept taken to reality.
