it was time...Christmas is over, I had some of my money left over to do with whatever I choose, so i ordered my third Emerson. seemed like an easy decision, right? EXCEPT, the only problem is which one to buy? my first was a CQC-7A, then a Traveler, so I decided I wanted something a little beefier. so many choices....how to decide?...I went with what any grown man would do when faced with something like this....I flipped a coin lol. the first flip eliminated the CQC-8. then I flipped again, that eliminated the ETAK. so what did I order? the CQC-13....plain edge black finish. I only hope im not faced with another decision this difficult for at least a month, these kinda things can be really hard on a guy :D

Nice! You'll love the 13! The ergos is a little more aggressive than the Journeyman being that it really locks your hand into place.

the blade on the 13 is a beauty--I like them naked, but black is beautiful too! I find the ergos excellent.

my other two are "naked", so I decided to go with the black blade...gotta mix it up LOL

If you could have found one, there was an "in between" model for the 8 vs 13 coin flip: the Tiger. 13 grip with an "8ish" blade in a low slung position that places the blade's tip on the centerline of the grip for thrusting power.

thanks for the tip, ive seen pictures of that model on here, but never on any of the sites I buy from. I really like GPK because of their location, priority mail usually has my order in my hands within 3 days. I checked the USPS tracking, and my 13 should be here tomorrow....sweet :D

^NICE! The Tigers were sold exclusively through Emerson Knives as a Limited/Signature Edition. GPK wouldn't have received any for sale and such will be the case for other dealers too.

I never thought of flipping a coin. But I've really been stressing over the decision between the 15 the 8 and the Journeyman. Then I realized that the Journeyman was being discontinued, so the decision was made. The Journeyman is headed my way. I just hope that it isn't so much like my current Horseman that I am disappointed. Guess I'll just have to make do.

Longun, if you are looking for a utility knife that will handle just about anything you throw at it -- you are really going to like your Journeyman! I own several other Emersons but not a Horseman so, I cannot compare. But my Journeyman is truly a hard-use knife that takes everything I've thrown at it.
