Simply perfection and worth soooo much more than Jason charges.

If you haven't ordered one yet, DO SO RIGHT NOW!!!

:D

Jason Brous Division Flipper.

It's a large folder, but its light as hell and flips with absolute ease.

I own many Custom Knives and this is def one of my top 5.

I was hoping for a low number, preferably under 10, and got number 7 so I'm pretty happy.

Looks nice, but unfortunately its an almost direct copy of another knife (the poltergeist haunter). The Silent Soldier is also a copy of one of that guy's designs as well.

Brous was confronted about it on the green forum, and was subsequently banned because he refused to own up to it. FWIW, those poltergeist designs have been around for years and years.

I'm liking the blade shape, but not sure how I feel on the grip portion. Could just be the material... not sure. As long as you like it. I don't have any real high end folders yet.

I understand that the PW Haunter is almost the same design.

But there are plenty of knives that look exactly the same on the market.

Does that mean that we shouldn't enjoy the knives just because they look alike.

I'm not sure if the Haunter is a carbon fiber with D2 steel but the Division is.

Regardless of who had the design first, the Brous is a fantastic knife and well worth the money IMO.

Can't argue with that. Enjoy the knife brother!

It looks pretty awesome, and for that price seems like a steal. It's just a bit big for me to see it being in my pocket, at nearly six inches closed. In any case, sweet looking knife, enjoy it!

Thanks, I hadn't seen this before. Now that you mention it though, there is a < cough > striking resemblance, isn't there?:

Then again, they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery . . .

Yea it is def a large EDC, but since I rotate knives from day to day its not a big deal.

It's just so flawless in overall construction and its just so damn sexy.

Yes there are similarities to the Haunter but it is not identical.

The handles have the same shape but the screw/stand off placement is different and the Haunter isn't a full carbon fiber handle.

Also the Haunters blade doesn't have the large lightening groove at the top.

I personally like the Brous a lot more than the Poltergeist.

Regardless like I mentioned above, there are a ton of knives on the market that resemble each other.

As long as the owner is happy with their purchase that's whats most important IMO.

Great pickup. IMO fort a newbie this ain't a cheap piece, but well worth it. #21 say hi.

Oh it's def not "cheap" by any means, that is true.

But comparing it to some of the Full Custom pieces I have the price is a decent amount lower.

The thing is, the quality on the Division is pretty close to on par with the Full Customs.

The overall fit & finish is just perfection and I love the size.

Some might be turned off by its size, but I've come to really like larger folders.

This is my second knife from Jason and I def need to pick up a Reloader.

I had a reloader and sold it liked it but I hate when there is that agressive jimping right where the flipper is I think I should have gotten the division. The reloader was pretty sick in all other aspects though.

Wanted to post this....Jason made this comment on xiuxiu1313's first impressions video.

Thanks, I realize the 2 designs look very similar, If I would have know earlier I would have made changes to my design before going into production. Sometimes this stuff happens and its a bummer that some people actually believe that after making over 200 designs I would all of a sudden start copying someone else's work. I hope people can realize it was an honest mistake and I was able to talk to Jakub about it and get everything all cleared up.

9blades thanks for posting it.

Yea I saw it on Carter's unboxing and commented as well.

Jim S. actually mentioned that Jason spoke to Jakob earlier in the comments.

Jason's been making knives for a long time and has no need to jack other people's designs.

And regardless, he absolutely killed it with this knife and I truly recommend it to anyone who like large folders.

He could charge double the price for the quality he's putting out.

I'm just super happy I got such a low number in the run :)

Yea I have the Silent Soldier as well, awesome compact EDC.

The ergo's on the Silent Soldier are sick, and make for really easy cutting.

I was EDCing the Division as my Primary and the Silent Soldier as my Secondary yesterday, it was perfect.

The Division is a similar size to other knives that use overbuilt blades.

If you have a EDC rotation, the Division is a great addition to any rotation.

Now I'm just trying to decide on satin or black out for my Reloader lol.

Decisions decisions :D
