I recently had the good fortune to win a giveaway from Sam aka RaptureRaptor ...
Drum Roll Please.....

A very tidy Imperial Ireland Barlow AND a very classy little Case stockman pattern (cattleman?) with Barnboard burnt bone scales.
Both are beauties.
I'm really glad that you overdid the wrapping because the mailbox might as well have been underwater in the the rain we had here today-the kind that comes down sideways.
All good though.
Thanks mate and I hope you are enjoying that old Uncle Henry too.
Cheers:):thumbup::thumbup:

I'm grinning at the Barlow. I've been carrying its Imperial-Providence cousin for the last few months -- a pawn-shop rescue and a challenge to myself. They're nothing fancy, but they'll sure earn their keep.

Congratulations!
--Mark

PS: Nice Case too. :D

The Barlow is virtually brand new by the look-it's in suberb condition.

Charlie -the coin features three West Australian animal icons-the White Pointer Shark, the Sandgroper(a kind of cricket that lives under the sand) and the Yowie (Australian Sasquatch creature).
Sctreened-yeah I had to look it up to find out it was barnboard burnt bone -it has a 'sawcut" look that I like immensely. Despite a lot of recent Case Quality controversy this is one they nailed. Fit and finish are bang on.:)

Congrats, meako, and thanks for the update on the "prizes" in RaptureRaptor's GAW. :thumbup::thumbup:
I'd been holding my breath waiting to see what was actually given away in the GAW, and my face was starting to turn blue and bug-eyed! :eek::eek:
Very nice knives! Well done, RaptRapt! :D:D
I recently received a couple of old Imperial Ireland knives and wish I knew more about the history of the company. How did Imperial end up in Ireland (or did they start there and move to Rhode Island later - seems doubtful)? How long were they there?
Anyway, thanks again for this informative thread, meako!
