Just wanted to drop a quick pic of yesterdays morning hunt. 5 Giant Canadas that aren't going to make it any further south this winter. It has been a slow start due to an earlier opening day than usual but should start picking up any day now.Wish you could be here with us...we're having a Blast !! Well gotta go and catch a couple hours this morning.....

Unfortunatly these and a few others will be made into jerky. It turns out really good.I'll bet it would be mighty tasty with a dot or 2 of your heat treat relish.Heres a couple more from this mornings sit.

OHHHH!!! Sounds like a trade coming up. I'll send you a jar of my relish for some jerky????? :D

good god kill all you can im sick of seeing them around here mowing off the crops and crappin round any watering hole they just so happen to find
i can even try to run them off around here
kill kill kill
ooo and that IG jerky thing im not sure of:foot:

Thanks for the comments guys . Yes Butch,we do our best :D You are not the first that I have heard curse these critters for being such "pests"

Todays mid-morning hunt.A couple buddies and I went out to the Blinds for a couple hours. The birds are really moving today,we had 2 large flocks drop right into the decoys & we dumped 10 birds. :D My God this is livin , I love this time of year :)

David, wish I was hunting with you!
I'm a life-long traditional bowhunter and make all my own hunting arrows. I split all my own fletching. The #1 hunting arrow feather is Grey Goose! It's waterproof!
Could I get you to save the long left wing nearly black feathers from your birds? Just the primary long feathers from the left wings?
Stick 'em in a package and I'll send you postage money??
Better than just throwing them away, and you'd be helping out a "brother"!

I use to waterfowl hunt religiously, nothing cooler then watching a flock of mallards working your decoys and dropping in from a mile up. We never got many geese to stop in around here, but over the years we did manage to kill a couple. Building blinds, setting deeks and traveling 50 miles early morning just became to much work for an old fart.
I've had to turn my attentions to only persueing the willy elusive whitetail, but watching that big buck slipping through the woods at grey day heading for your stand, sure does get the blood pressure movin.

But still I miss the quiet mornings going across the lake when it was 10 below, the spray off the boat freezing on my jacket, face and hands, finger so numb you couldn't bend them, yep those were the days and I wouldn't have changed a thing.
Thanks for the memories and enjoy the hunt, not many take the time to really enjoy what makes up the hunt, the filling of the game bag is just a bonus.

kbaknife I'd be more than happy to help you out , email sent. Bill by your descriptions I can tell you've been there before. I have done a bunch of Duck Hunting and from what you described it sounds like we were headed for the same hole in the marsh ;) And its so true about the game being only one small part of the whole experience. Its all good. :)
