I was curious as to the winning number and went back through the thread to find it but was unable to find a number posted by DAFOX. Am I missing something? A search for DAFOX posts on this particular forum showed the last post to be on 6/18/01.

As I understand it, the contest works something like this;

Posting in the "Pick-a-Number" thread has no bearing on whether you win or lose. Each forum member is assigned a random number for the purpose of the drawing.
The first number posted in the thread AFTER 12:00am EST, determines the winner. It is virtually impossible for you to pick your own number, but people like to get in on the game. :D

Congrats DAFOX. That is one of the sweetest knife giveaways that I have seen. Keep making great stuff Trace!

Oh, I think there is one extra rule in the contest. You have to have posted on the forum during the month of the contest.

Hey WrayH, it looks like one DOESN'T have to post in the month for the contest anymore. Since the post can be in any forum (not just this one), I did my own search of all open forums. The last post I found by him was 7/11/01, in the Spyderco forum. Soooo, like I said, I guess you don't have to be an active poster anymore. That's really cool, since I don't have enough time anymore to surf the forums like I want to. Good to hear that I will still have a chance to win a cool knife even if I haven't had a chance to post. :D
 
On a posative note. I received the knife and other prizes today.
I would like to say thanks to all. Especially Mr. Rinaldi for this very nice knife. Would have liked to post pictures but the person I know with camera has been activated. So I hope my brief description will suffice.

Blade is D-2 size approx. 3.25"
Handle is like a blue camaflage approx. 3.75"
also included was a very nice kydex sheath w/ tek-lok belt clip.
handles are pinned with a very nice "flower" pattern
Overall very nice size/shape. Very good grinding with an excellent edge profile. I am very pleased with the knife and again would like to thank Mr. Rinaldi, and Kevin (aka Sparks),for this very nice gift. I would also like to thank sentry for the Tuff cloth, and lubricant, and Flitz for the maintenance kit they provided.
Its a shame the knife using community will be taking the on a huge burden in the future. Again thanks to all.
