I have no idea what I'm going to give away, except that it'll be a knife! I need to figure out which one. Guess you fellas will just have to wait in anticipation......

So....I'm not going to tell you what knife I'm giving away. But I'll make it a good one. At the time I'm starting this thread, I have 1964 posts. When I hit 2000 posts, I'm going to use a random number generator and pick a number. I don't know how soon I will hit 2000...maybe in 2 days, maybe in a month.

Once I pick the winner, then I will post a picture of the knife I chose to give away. So it's kinda like a surprise party, where you know that you're having a surprise party but you don't know who will be there. It's not a surprise that someone will be winning a knife, but it'll be a surprise what knife that is.

Rules: Except as otherwise provided below, 1 post only. Must be a regular contributor in Traditional. You must have complimented me on my knives on multiple occasions. You must think I'm awesome. And you most tell me your 1 favorite knife. I don't want to hear that you have a 100 favorite knives and it just depends on the day. I don't want to hear that you love all knives so it's impossible to have a favorite. I want to know your 1 favorite knife. Sorry if it makes you guys actually have to think for a few seconds...but that's the rules.

Additional Rules: These are opportunities to get an extra posts. You have to PM some resoponses to me, which means you must at a minimum be a Basic Member. (a) For the Camo Shirt, you can post that in your post. (b) for the Unicorn, you can post your essay in your post. (c) For the name of the person who gave me the 4th of July knife, you must send me a PM...do not post. (d) if you figure out the knife/maker shown by the handle/blade below, you must send me a PM...do not post. I don't want people seeing others posts and then just swiping the answer and sticking it in their post.

(a) If you point me in the direction of an old LL Bean Chamois brown/green camo shirt in size L or XL, I will let you do 2 posts. Now I'm not saying that I will take that as a bribe for an additional post, but think of it as a treasure hunt and I just want to see if someone is willing enough to find and show me this item, despite the fact that said person has no idea what kinfe he could potentially win.

(b) You must deeply analyze this picture. Find yourself in zen. Do this because I think the excitement about this knife will be too much, and you need to meditate on the sweet old lady in her hover-round atop the magical unicorn in front of God's glorious rainbow. This will help keep you sane while I am thinking about the knife to post. So your chore to get a 2nd bonus post with this tidbit....you have to write me about the meaning of this picture, and how it inspires you. If this is how you want to get 2 posts....post your mini essay in your response.

(c) You must tell me which fine gentleman who frequents these forum gave me this knife, as it is getting close to July 4. This will not be the give away knife, but it tests your knowledge of which knives have roamed these forums over the year. This will also earn you 2 posts.

(d) And finally, from the picture of the handle/blade below, you must tell me the maker (if you know the pattern, all the better). This will get you 2 posts.

My favorite knife is a 1950's three-eye Carl Schlieper Eye Brand 4 blade congress - 3 1/2" long, bright yellow translucent cel scales in perfect shape. It's got some of the finest steel I've ever experienced on a knife, carries well, feels good in the hand - just a darn nice working knife with a lot of edge that I carry a lot.

I'm ignoring the rest - I think you need to take your pills again. No, not the ones with M&M on them - they won't help.

My favorite knife is the bail-less Great Eastern Northfield Conductor with Buffalo Horn scales. I recognize that it is relatively new. But then I am relatively new at this as well. I carry it all the time. It is becoming to me what a peanut is to Jack. As for the rest, it is too early for me to even consider that, but congrats on the nearly 200th post, and Campbell, as always you have some damn fine knives.

My favorite knife is this Case mini copperhead. Everybody's seen it several times. It's not the best knife I have, but it is my favorite. - Ed J

Congrats on the upcoming 2,000 Campbell, and thanks for doing a giveaway. My favorite knife is the swayback I bought from Todd Davison. I've got a few nice knives, but I love everything about this one.

My favorite knife is my WT by Tony Bose.

It MUST be my favorite, because not only do I carry it in my jeans all the time, but it is in my bathrobe pocket, as I shuffle around the house, sipping coffee, eating local strawberries, and alternating between reading the weekend paper, and surfing the Forum that counts!
You and your crew are doing an awesome job on the Forum knife, Campbell!

Bought this one from an auction house in Texas. From my early "Schrade Daze". Likely made 1976-91.

Who wouldn't want to own John Wayne Gacey's knife ?

roland, too dumb to understand rest of requirements.
P.S., Campbell if your Camo shirt is wool, wanna trade it to a small guy for a knife ?

This Halfrich small Rounder is my favorite!

Congrats on your upcoming 2k Campbell and thanks for the giveaway!!

My Alsodorf Slimine Trapper is my favorite knife. I love the way it looks, size, weight, and the blades it has. It would be in my pocket right now if I wasn't participating in the June challenge.

I'll make my second post before I forget to do it. Thanks for the surprise giveaway - and congrats on a great (almost) 2,000 posts. Here's to 2,000 more!

Campbell OK'd me for a second post. My 2nd favorite knife, and the only one I'd never part with is my Kerry Hampton KHnutbuster. It's the only one with any sentimental value. It was in my pocket on my wedding day and on the day my daughter was born. It's the only knife that's irreplaceable.

My favorite is my forum knife, it was given to me by a fine member on these forums and I cannot thank him enough...I had been gifted knives before by family and my wife, but there is something about someone you didnt know very well gifting such a generous gift at a time when I was pretty down about being so far away from family (christmas is very big with me and my wife). Its one knife that a billion dollars couldnt part me from.

Congrats on nearly hitting 2000 and thanks for the give away! ;)
