Congratulations to Shogun:

We have selected your name submission of "EdgeTech" as first place in the "Name a Knife Company Contest". E-mail us your snail address with your choice of Impulse or Magna and style.

We thank all of you that submitted names and comments in the initial thread. Also special thanks to Mickey77, Marion David Poff, Phill, Stompy, James Mattis and Howie for all the extra effort.

There were a lot of great names submitted. I also understand that several of you were not overly thrilled with the final list. Note that there were a number of good names that did not make the final list. Not because we did not consider them good names but because they were not exactly what we were looking for.

For more information on our motives behind this contest go to the following new thread, "EdgeTech Mission Statement, Please Read".

Again thanks for all the help and support and wishing all the best in year 2000.

Sincerely,
Outdoor Edge Cutlery Corp.

The King of Sweden was out hunting in the woods with one of his assistants. As they looked around suddenly there appeared in the clearing another man. The King raised his rifle. The man shouted "I'm not a moose!" The King fired a shot and killed the man. Stunned, the assistant said, "Sire, he said, 'I'm not a moose.'" "Oh" said the King, "I thought he said, 'I am a moose.'"

HEY!
I gave the name Edge Tech also????
which one of us said it frst??

Way to go Shogun. I'm sure you'll like either one! HAHA Auto! Cool story!!! Mickey, well... that's pretty funny. I haven't checked to see who posted first. Either way, I suppose we've learned a lesson (kinda-sorta).

Howie

Nice going Shogun!
David all kidding aside, I wish you great success wiht your new endeavor. If I could make a suggestion, how about offering "First Production Runs" of your new designs to BladeForum members through the BF Store? It would be a very nice way of helping the Forums, and be a little "perk" to us Members.
What do you think?

Congratulations to the winner! I noticed Mickey77 did get in there first with EDGE TECHS and Shogun followed with Edge-Tech. Very interesting...

Thanks for the post Snoopy:

Yes it seems we have a slight controvercy brewing here. I checked the original thread and yes, Mickey77 was the first with "Edge Techs" and Shogun later posted "EDGE-TECH".

We decided to spell the trade name "EdgeTech" without the hyphen or space so neither answer is dead on.

Mike, Spark, can we have a referee call here? We have not yet heard from Shogun however my gut feeling is Mickey77 deserves some credit here.

Perhaps two winners is the only fair way to resolve this.

What does every one else think? Please let me know.

You asked what everyone else thought so here is my 2 cents worth.

Since neither of them had it exactly like it ended up and since Mickey was the first to suggest a close similarity I think he should get a knife. Now since you have already declared shogun the winner I don't think it would be right to take it away from him. So I guess the only option, IMO, is both should get knives!

Yo Dave! I know Close only counts with Horse Shoes and Hand Grenades, but what are we talking about here? Giving away a second Free Knife?

I know Christmas is over but come on be a "Mench!" Yes! you should give them both a knife...well, if not for free, certainly for cost

I agree 100% with GeneL74's post and also like your choice of going with EdgeTech. Good luck on this one!

Edge-Tech, Microtech, Auto-Tech, Speed-Tech

Its getting pretty technical around here.

(you should have called me dave, I have a whole list of names!)

Enough said,

Congratulations Mickey77. You are a winner along with Shogun! You definately deserve to after all the names you submitted. Send your snail address with knife of your choice.

To Anthony; I realize there are a number of "Tech-name" knife companies out there and this was my #1 reason not to pick EdgeTech. After mulling over hundreds of names for several weeks we decided that EdgeTech was the strongest and works the best alongside Outdoor Edge.

Outdoor Edge / EdgeTech

For the record I am curious what other names you had in mind. Are you going to the Shot Show? If so I'm looking forward to see you there.

Talk to you soon.

Good call David!!! I think you have done the right thing! I am assuming that Shogun is still a winner too? Anyway congratulations Mickey!

I hope you've done a trademark search -- the market is getting crowded with -Tech names.

Hey I meant to say edge-tech, do I get a knife too?

Brandon
