They fear the Power Of The Becker even more.... turn away now if you are squeamish.

Today we went to assist our friend and local organic farmer with some chicken slaughtering/butchering. He had some cheapo knives that didn't hold an edge well and was getting frustrated trying to cut through the feet and the heads. Then I remembered I had my BK-2 in my pack in the car so I got it. They made short work of the chickens, that's for sure. We were busy (both recording a podcast episode for future release and getting the actual work done) so I only managed 2 crappy cellphone pics:

I snapped these while my wife was doing the actual cutting (I was still in audio engineer mode for the podcast).

+1 to local farms helping people eat good. Yup, BK2 has always kind of reminded of something a butcher might appreciate. And yeah, chickens don't like beckers -

You see the fear in his eyes?

We eat more poultry than beef in my house (I have teh gout), and we thank you for beheading our chickens.

We'd do it here if not. :D

Awesome sauce, and doesn't that BK2 really dig in on the chicken flesh? Love that fat bottomed girl.

Love to see 'em at work, I do, I do.......

Thanks for the post......

Thanks to YOU Ethan for making such awesome knives. That same knife (along iwth my BK9) will get some use tonight at a fireside after dinner. Jonesing for my first fire of the spring.... some friends might come over, in which case I'll break out the drinking horn and some mead. :-)

I haven't gotten a BK5 yet (that's next on my list after the Machax, followed by the BK15 and 16) but I imagine that'd be the perfect knife for chicken cuttin'.....

We're all about the good local food, whether organic or wild.... that's the main theme of our podcast (though -- perhaps unfortunately -- we do get political at times).

Yeah the BK2 worked great, beefy blade but the convex edge got right between the bones in the joints for easy slicin'. Those tendons didn't have a chance.....
