Between the .320 version called the FFFBM and the .250 FBM, which one do you strongly prefer? Which one chops better and is a better user?

I have one of the custom shiny FFFBMs coming from BCS, and a Black on Black FFFBM coming from an Oinker. I have this desire for the corragated .250 still (without ever playing with any Fusions!). I will post pics when my goodies arrive!

I was on the fence for quite a while but finally slipped to the dark side and now prefer the FFBM. The extra weight just feels good in the hand. ;)

Short answer: Between the FFBM and the CG FBM, I prefer the CG.

My order of preference:

FBM SE
FBM LE
CG FBM & SHBM (tie)
FFBM
BM-E

Never handled a Proto, so I can't speak to that one.

L to R: MOASH, SHBM, BM-E, CG FBM, FFBM, FBM SE, FBM LE

The one that you call a shiny custom FFBM from the BCS is a FBMLE. Which also happens to be the BIGgest, FATtest, and BADdest FBMs around :thumbup:

It is the best chopper of the bunch from the factory. And also the most beautiful in my opinion.

To distinguish, in my pic above, the FFBM is 5th from the left, and the FBM LE is 7th from the left (the furthest right).

FFBM has a saber grind, whereas the FBM LE has a full flat grind.

I think I misunderstood you until Ban clarified. In that case, I put the FBM LE above the FFBM. Full flat makes a big difference IMO.

Thanks for the photo Guyon.

Is there much difference in performance between the FBM SE and the FFBM?

The FBM SE is somewhere between the CG and the Fattie. So it's a nice mix of qualities and a middle road between weight/momentum and ease of handling. The FFBM just seems to bind a bit more because of the thickness. I will say this, however. I think that, if/when I thin the edge on my FFBM user, it's going to be a much better chopper.

I like the CG FBM - but then, I do not have an LE or an FFBM, and I'm hoping to get an FFBM to make some comparisons. ;) I predict I would like it, in spite of the thickness. I don't mind heavy.

You are correct, sir!

The FFBM is an excellent chopper ... even without a re-worked edge.

Don't want to get side tracked but is it FFFBM or FFBM? I've seen it both ways.

I thought it was FFFBM standing for Fat Flat Fusion Battle Mistress, but was confused when I saw one because of the saber grind. Does the Flat just mean lack of corrigations like on the CG?

Same knife from what I understand.

FFFBM: FLAT FAT FUSION BATTLE MISTRESS

or

FFBM: FLAT FUSION BATTLE MISTRESS

I thonk.:o

As a pure chopped, I would guess that with the right edge the FFBM would be best.

For overall use, not just chopping, I would say the SE and the CG would be best closely followed by the LE.

For fine control and decent chopping ability the BM-E is a good choice as it is the smallest of all BM's and it's ergo handle allows it to have more point control.

But if I had to walk away with one, it would be one of these two, probably the green handled one as the other is way to purty:

There is really no right or wrong. I personally always refer to them as FFBM (Fat Fusion Battle Mistress) because....well....they are FAT :p

The Flat just means no CBTs but is misleading in that people might mistake it for Flat Grind when it is in fact Saber.

Ever since I first saw a pic of that beauty following Blade 07, I've had recurring dreams about that knife. I won't go into details, because they're not appropriate for a family forum, but let's just say that I really REALLY like that one.

Couldn't have gone to a better HOG  - if I'm excluded. :thumbdn:

:D :D

LOL...:D Joules, if I decide I need cash due to my current situation, I will put you at or near the top of the list. Although a few other hogs who have bought it's smaller sister SHSH might argue with that.

but before things get out of control and my pm box fills up, I have no current plans to sell it or any of these:

except that Rat30 has one of the two left ones saved for him when he finds me a replacement.
