Andersen Forge Reflections, or......

Good video Karl. I will be the first to agree that a whole lot of heart and soul goes into every knife made. They are somewhat like our children. We mould them in the best way we know how, then we put our stamp of approval on them as they go out into the world.

Looking forward to the next segment.

What a great story. Looking forward to part two. Is there a 12 step program cause I'm addicted too. I'll have check myself into the Betty Forge clinic, lol.

Took me a few tries to get to finish these with the kids and all. Great videos.

I like the hole in your shirt.. :p:p I think most of my shirts have a hole in the same spot.

Like the dies for the press too. Great ideas.

Great video, Karl. My start in knifemaking is similar to yours. I had just moved to Columbus, OH and was driving around to get to know the city. Decided to turn around to head back home, pulled into a parking lot of a small business complex, looked up, and the sign said "Koval Knives." I made kit knives from them off and on for a number of years, but it didn't occur to me for a long time to try to make my own. After the Koval's passed away and Troy closed down the shop I had to find another source of blades and found Texas Knife Supply. Poking around on their website I found a link to The KnifeNetwork, and those guys over there got me hooked.

Looking forward to the next vid.

VERY informative so far Karl. I watched parts 1 and 2, but what I thought was part 3 was also a link to part 2?

Looking forward to part 3.

Very nice Karl. Great story and explanations of how and why you do the things you do to make REALLY great knives. I was lucky enough to meet you at Blade Show 2011 and so glad you made me pick up your knives instead of just looking at them with eyes glazed over.

Excellent Karl. I am waiting for part 3. The videos give a really good look at what is involved in making a knife, plus insight into why we do what we do. Addicted here also and yes there is no cure.
Great stuff.

I'm enjoying this a lot. Thanks for taking the time to share with us. (I like your system of spacers for the press.)

Making a WIP/instructional video isn't easy and your doing a great job. Looking forward to Part 3.

Gary

Gary, these are NOT instructional videos, nor a WIPs.
They are not "How To...." videos.
They're "Who is" videos. I'm not trying to show "how" I make anything, I'm just showing "why" I do things the way I do and the foundation philosophies behind them.
If a person can learn something along the way, then that's great.
I can't, quite honestly, show why I do things or the philosophy behind them, if I don't at least show how I do some things as well.
But the focus is more on "who" and "why", than "how".
