One month left to SICAC Paris show. I´m working as hard as I can with the knives I´m planing to bring and right now it feels like I wont make it with all of them.

Anyways, there is usually allot going on with the details on my knives, and I do understand it´s not for everyone, and for a show I guess it´s not a terrible idea to have something simpler but with the same expression and style.

I finished three knives yesterday and here are a small sneak peak for my future show table in Paris.

On the first knife I thought "Rhino" when I started designing it. It´s less aggressive from what I usually do and is leaning more to the American style then the Scandinavian. Handle is Desert Iron and Mammoth.

The second one is probably what you can call a "André Designed knife". The shapes pretty sharp with a very modest round curves. This design first emerged from when I wanted to bring some Tactical into my knives, without making them tactical... so to say. Anyway, I liked what I came up with and most things that I do orients from there.

The third Sub hilt got more shapes then I have done lately. Persian vs. Scandinavian I guess. I think this is the first Sub hilt I have done and I wanted to try it out, i´ll probably do more in the future. Handle is Cocobolo. Very slim knife with not to big handle.

You can see more WIP pictures from different knives for the show here (I will not post all the pictures here because they are many):

See ya!

I love the recessed window carving in the bolsters. Very smart looking.

Thanks for the post!

Really impressive knives and sheaths. That subhilt is pretty dreamy.

Andre' - I keep coming back, and back, and back to see these works of art. Absolutely incredible, I'm in awe!!

I have a question: Are the sheath "uppers" attached to the lower sections in any way... glue... hidden stitching....?

That IS very fine looking work on the knives and equally stunning in the leatherwork Andre'. That subhilt is my favorite.

Thanks for posting them.

Thanks everyone.

The leather shrinks a lot when it dries and that usually is enough if the lower part got the right shape, but I do pure super glue from the inside down the splice just to be sure as well.

Amazing blades and sheaths
Imaginative and creative works

Congrats to you Andre :)

Really liked the knives when I opened this and have similar sentiments to those expressed. The "recessed windows" are fantastic and that subhilt is so nice.
Then the sheaths.. really opened some doors in my mind with those. They are so well designed to match the knives. Even to matching the mottling of the colour to match the handles... Wow... Really impressive work in design and execution.

I´m happy I can be of some inspiration. I believe the sheath are as important as the knife in the final expression of the project. Of course it´s hard to find the inspiration of putting so much time into the sheaths, but in the end it´s usually worth it.

All the best,
André

that is obvious to me and is one of the many aspects which set your work apart from so many others', in my opinion.
I'm really glad you're posting here:thumbup: (think I've said that before, but I think it bears repeating)

As usual André, your work is absolutey beautiful!
Some (if not all) of those details just blow my mind!
Every time I see your work I feel inspired to do more and better knives myself!
Great work, and thanks for posting!

Andre, I love your style. Scandinavian in general but many steps beyond with details. Strong, substantial. And your leather work suits the knives very well. That sub hilt is one of the most interesting and unique pieces in the SH category I've seen in a long time. Excellent work!
