Opinions on Andre's knives?

How are they compare to other fine custom folders?

He has some cool looking knives on his web site.

Thanks,

Andre DeVilliers Knives,

I really like Andre's knives. His work is extremely clean and well designed. I like his Pathfinder model as well as some of his gent's folders. Expect to see native South African materials in his knives. I would recommend his knives to anyone.

Hope this helps.

Larry:

Thanks for the reply. How do you like that Operator that you have? That thing looks mean! In the pic it appears to have two colors on the blade. Is this true or is it just me?

Are the Operator and Pathfinder the same except for the blade?

Have you carried any of his knives for a period of time? Wonder how they hold up with use?

In regards to the TM2. What is zero magnetic? What's the advantage?

Thanks,

Dave

Hello Big Dave!

Thanks for the reply. I got back from the from the Florida Art Knife Show. The Operator blade is actually a mirror polished ATS34 blade (shadow creates the illusion of two colors). The operator and pathfinder are the same except the blade design. Very well made at a great price. Andre's work should last for years to come- heavier build than an elishewitz or reeves.

The Thomas TM2 is non-magnetic ie. non-detectible by magnetic security scanners. Extremely light and strong.

Larry
