Man, sometimes a grail is right under your nose and you don't even know it.

L44 flipper with honeycomb black G10 and black micarta with red spacers. Light blue anodized liners and clip. 3.8 inch blade, total length 8.75 with hand filed liners. IKBS system. Bohler N690 stainless.

I just set up my flash and umbrella quick and they don't really do the knife justice, it needs more natural light but I need to get to the dentist. Anyhoo... I don't know why I haven't seen more of his work around the forums! The place I purchased this from has been through quite a few so people have to have them, maybe they just don't want to share and spoil it for others.

No we don't so delete this thread immediately before everyone finds out!:D

Seriously though, Andre makes brilliant knives. His flippers open with a mesmerising smoothness. You have a beauty there………..Enjoy!:)

Here are three of mine on the left of this picture. The one in the middle, with the machined orange and black G10, is a new collaboration between Andre Thorburn and Andre van Heerden. It is called the A2 (A squared)

That is lovely Mr Clean - congrats on a fine acquisition.

Steven is utterly correct - mesmerising smoothness, it is.

Have just the one, pictured here nestling down with an Andre Van Heerden and a Peter Steyn

Couldn't add top flipping his knives at the NYCKS, that flipperless flipping action is addictive, especially with the IKBS.

Good to see other owners!

The action IS mesmerizing! I'm no stranger to bearing systems but IKBS is new to me. The opening sound and feel is very different than the other types I've experienced. And not only the action, but the knife itself, the play in the anodizing, the file work and especially on this knife and the way he's mated the bolster to the handle and used the red liners.

Now I've got the wife interested and there was a great sculpted carbon fiber one at the store I purchased this at...

I don't think that I've seen Andre's knives before. Very nice. I'll be looking at them closely now! And congratulations on achieving your grail knife. That one speaks to me also. Thank you. Mike
