Can anyone give me info on ADV line of folders? What is the quality like, how rugged are they, how smooth and reliable, warranty issues?? Thanks.

I have owned a De Villiers ExecTac Spearpoint for two years and even though it does not see as much pocket time as my newer knives with the new S30V wonder steel, my De Villiers' fit and finish is superior to that of my other folders in the $300-400 price range. De Villiers also adds nice touches like anodized clips and liners. I believe that De Villiers offers excellent value foor the money and in absolute terms.

I've got a wharncliffe of his and it's a top notch folder. Very smooth, very well put together. The buttonlock is very well done. I can't give you any usage reports since I don't edc it. I think he's a top notch maker that doesn't see enough press around these parts. :)

I've only handled one of his folders and it was made top notch so I wouldn't be concerned with the quality of the knife as much as the maker. He has recieved some bad press for breaking patent laws in the past, I'll see if I can find of the threads for you.

I've got an ADV/Pirela folder that is exceptional. Very smooth, ergonomic and locks up perfectly (liner lock). I'd highly recommend his work as the designs are tremendously functional and offers exceptional value.

I've got a wharncliff mini operator and its one of the smoothest opening knives I've got (next to me TnT). His knives are outstanding and well worth the money.

Any more words of Wisdom?? How rust resistant, ease of resharpening, and edge holding is the ATS-34 blade steel ADV uses?? Thanks again.
