It's been a long time since I was here. Had to go a few times to the sandbox. Anyway, I wanted to get myself a new knife. Long story, short, I contacted Andrew Jordan. He also is living in the Netherlands, near my place.

I contacted Andy and was telling him what I prefer, what I like and also got his thoughts and tips. After all, he's the blade smith. I know he makes some hardcore military blades. My blade will be a new one in his line. Can't reveal the name yet, but it will come soon. It will have a 12cm handle and a 19/20cm blade. It will be a droppoint, with a thick belly. Great for chopping. For me is a 32cm knife ideal, it's pretty good for chopping and it's capable to do some smaller tasks. As all of his knives, this also will have a finger choil to hold in on the fore hand grip. The balance will be negative, right in front of the coil. The handle will be green canvas micarta with grip dots. The choice for grip dots was choosen because I sometimes have to skin an animal in the field. The dots will help me get a better grip when there's blood covered on the handle. Because the knife will be used, as I'm an active operator the blade gets a dark coating. So nothing will be bling bling :D Including a small piggy knife, para cord wrapped for the finer work. A green kydex sheath with molle system and a firesteel holder.

It will take some time when it's finished, aprox. 3 months. But I'm really excited and can't wait to handle it. Andy already started forging the knife and he's telling me it will be a beast. I will keep you guys updated.

Now I was wondering, who has an Andrew Jordan knife here. I want pictures, and what your thoughts are about the Jordan knife/knives you own. It has to be a user, but pics of a safe queen is also welcome.

I sued to own one of his knives - a fine little hunter that now resides in the Murray White collection.

Here's a pic of Andrew from back in 2004 at the SOS show. Nice guy and a heck of a bladesmith:

Here some pics of my EDC-Jordan!
It´s a Scout in D2.
I really love this knife and in my mind it´s the perfect outdoor-user!
It did a great job in hunting and all, what you can do in the woods!

Next month I will get a new Commander (~16-17cm blade) in the same look of my Scout!

sure glad you posted these, great looking knives and I didnt know about this maker

Congrats on a knife that you will most probably like very much.

His site is http://www.jordanknives.com/

I don't own one, handled several ones, the opo, commander and lynx. I love his military line, attached is a picture of the opo, taken last weekend chopping up a chicken (in a first aid course). I contacted him last year to have him make me some knives for my sons (when they grow up), but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

After that I had some sharpening lessons by him in the field. With the famous words "The Burr is bullshit" :)

He's a bit of a controversy in the dutch knife world. I know guys that hate him, and I know guys that like him. He has a mind of his own, that's for sure.

I'm undecided personally.

He does make some fine knives though and is obviously an expert smith. He spent years in Japan honing his skills with the masters of the old ways. He knows his stuff. Even the bladesmiths in the netherlands that don't like him agree on this.

That Scout in D2 looks like a heck of a solid knife - good looking, too.

Congrats on the new knife. You never mentioned what steel it would be in?

Does anyone have a Bobb Cat they want to find a new home for? I have space!

Also, JurT I would sure be interested in seeing any pictures of your new knife/design that Andrew Jordan is putting together for you so I hope you'll post some up when you get it.

Thanks.
