Andy I had a cool idea for sharper instinct

Andy,
Though I am mainly interested in the Busse Knives side of your operation I had a cool idea for the other side. You sell archery stuff right? How about INFI arrow heads. Aren't arrow shafts pretty standard in size and length? Then why couldn't busse combat make broad headed arrow heads with razor sharp INFI edges. Just a thought. I'm sure all the archers in the world would love them. Oh yeah and the package goes in the mail today. WOO HOO!

That would suck! But imagine what it would do if it actually hit the target. The picture I had in my head for the INFI arrows is the same as the one in your logo Andy. That is what they should look like. Black coat and all. And you could make a little handle that they could attach to so that they could be used as either arrow heads or small utility knives. Somethig small with a little thumb rest. That is assuming these would be the screw on types. Man I don't even own a Bow and I would at least want one of them.

Hello all,

I've been a lurker for about a year now and have finally decided to join in on the fun. I have learned many a thing by keeping up with new posts here at the Busse Forum, and thank you all. Just to let you know, I am a proud owner of a Badger Attack, with Tanto Variant #4 on the way soon (thanks Andy), and am thrilled to be part of this Nuclear Family. Anyway, on to business...
Ryu, that is an excellent idea. I recently got into archery and was remarking to a friend of mine how awesome it would be if Busse Combat were to make INFI arrowheads. I know they would be pretty expensive and heartbreaking to lose, but the benefits would be worth it.

Arrows arent std. lenght nor diameter. However broadheads (scre-ons) have standard attatchment. This is accomplished with inserts in the shaft. Currently there are made titanium heads, which have a word for being strong and durable. However the blades of these (and I think most others) are replaceable and stainless steel. To simplify what Ive learned, the major concern is penetration, and to achieve this you have to have the sharpest edge possible. I dont think edgeholding is the most important aspect (unless of cource the edge will dull in the path through the animal or in the quiver), since most will replace or sharpen their blades after a hit. Weight vs/strenght is of concern. hmm I have heard of BHs breaking. Such a head is a terrible thing since you may only injure the animal. blades may bend, which is a tad less critical I guess. What could the possible benefits from an INFI blade be?

Sigurd has some valid points here, BUT, the benefit of an INFI broadhead is that it would simply be THE BEST steel that could ever be found in a broadhead, period.

Steel Force, from Ballistic Archery is the only cut on contact head using high performance, laser cut, knife grade 440 steel, to my knowledge. They are spin tested, vented, and work GREAT. I also know Nick Ginetti, the original designer, and find him a true treasure to the bowhunting community.

But does a Steel Force work THAT MUCH BETTER than other cut on contact heads? Maybe marginally...

Would an INFI cut on contact head work that much better than other cut on contact heads....maybe marginally. But again, they would simply be the BEST steel available on a broadhead...which speaks to the issue of inherent quality in any piece of equipment available for purchase, in any industry.
