For all of the regular patrons of this forum I'm sure you've heard of Dylan's amazing "Fletcher Clean Kydex", or seen TF's beautiful leather work through "Diomedes Industries". However, as much as we all appreciate Andy's knives--his sheath work seems to always end up in the nosebleed section.

This post is an attempt to change all of that. So without further delay I give to you Andy Roy's Custom Cardboard:

I apologize for the poor lighting, but I just couldn't wait to show off my new pants. As you can see the sheath has nice clean lines and gently tapers towards the bottom. This sheath is also close to my heart because is can turn from a normal sheath to a "quick draw" sheath in seconds.

This picture shows how the throat of the sheath is gently molded to front of the handle for a nice, secure fit.

(The outside web, which is almost twice as thick than the inside web; and the reinforcing band across the bottom.)

(Bottom drainage hole and the inside web, cleanly applied.)

As these two pictures demonstrate; the sheath is also reinforced along the sides, and a bad around the bottom, for added wear resistance. This particular sheath is meant for right hand carry so the reinforcing web is a little bit thicker than on the other side. Even they're poor pictures you can see how evenly the webbing was applied. It's the little details that set Andy apart from other makers.

But the best part of the sheath is that the attachment which allows for either vertical or horizontal carry.

Overall, the sheath is everything I could ever hope for and more. It securely carries my knife; is easily attachable to my body, bag, or belt, and it is a classy way to protect my knife.

Oh, and for those of you who were hoping to see the actual knife. ;)

That sheath is awesome! Maybe Andy will post a tutorial on how he constructs them. The knife ain't bad either!

I've tried to get him to teach me his sheath skills, but it would seem he wants to stay on top and will hold out on certain "trade secrets" to make sure of this.

Double reinforced stitching? Nice! On a serious note, I actually like Andy's real sheaths---he just hates making them!

Hehe. That looks like faux leather too. What a lazy ass I am.

I'm glad my jest didn't come off the wrong way. I needed to smile so I decided to be silly.

I can't wait for the real pants to arrive. Thanks for a beautiful blade though.

Thats funny I just made a similar sheath (not the same quality of course). My version was wrapped in duct tape for the tactikool look!

Ok, my lack of hanging around the forums is going to show itself, but what model knife is that? It's amazing!

Competition Cutter. There's one other floating around somewhere; but I haven't seen mention of it here. Or the Camp Chopper for that matter.

Camping the second week of November-so I'll get a review done then.

OOooo. Squirt a little WD 40 on there somewhere and its a true southern sheath!

Nice! I believe that attachment point would also count as a MOLLE loop for the more tactically-inclined.
