I just ordered a real gem of a blade from Andy Roy of Fiddle back Forge. Andy is a great guy and I can not say enough nice things about him.
The blade I have coming is a Scandi ground Bushfinger with the 01 smalted steel and a few extras in the handle. My question is, does anyone have any experiance with Andy's Scandis.:D How thin does he make them and how well do they hold up to regular use in the woods? I know he primarlay does convex grinds which is far more difficult to pull off. I have no dought that it is top notch but I love to hear from others and value opinuns when it is given from a good source.
Thanks,

Andy's Scandi's come with a decent edge but you will want to strop it a few times. Aslo make sure you clean it well with soap and water when you get it there is going to be a little bit of gunk in his lanyard hole. His Bushcraft knives they are a different story and come pretty much with just a working edge and a secondary bevel and need to be thinned down a bit to make them work better depending on what you are cutting. If you are just going to use it on wood and beat it up neither of thee tips matter just crank on it and it won't die. EVER!

Thanks for the feed back. I do plan on thumping on it. I never have been able to buy a knife just to be able to brag about it. If Andy's blade is as good as I expect it to be it will become my primary bush knife and I spend a lot of time in the bush. Perhaps I will post a review.
