Rich, I think so. I have a couple myself. The ones I have sold in the past I have always gotten more than a regular Johnson sheath. There was a time when the sheaths for all Randalls sold at the Andy Thornal store had the Thornal logo above the Randall logo on the back of the sheath. This is not the case today and exactly when this stopped is not known. They have also had 3 serial numbered runs of Randall knives. Below is a little history on them and a description of their 50th Anniversary knife.
Andy Thornal is a sporting and outfitter's store in Winter Haven, Florida and has been a RANDALL dealer since 1969.
In 1945, The Army-Navy Store began business in Winter Haven, Florida selling the high quality military surplus that was abundant at the close of World War II. Since that beginning the business has evolved in both name and proffered goods. In the late 1960's as genuine surplus became scarce, the focus was turned to providing the expedition quality clothing and gear that our hunters required. Whether it was goose down parkas and sleeping bags for Western hunts or lightweight cotton poplin clothing for an African safari, our customers knew they could find it at Andy Thornal year round. This remains true today.
In 1996, Andy Thornal Company, still known as just "The Store" to long time customers, is celebrating these fifty years of supplying our customers with quality outdoor and travel clothing, equipment and footwear. In that tradition of quality, we are excited to offer this limited edition, our FIFTY YEAR COMMEMORATIVE KNIFE.
The Randall Made Knife is crafted with all the qualities that have gained the Randall family it's reputation of building "The World's Finest Knives". The knife is built on a Pathfinder design with a 4" drop point blade of 3/16" stainless steel stock with a 4-3/8" leather/India stag/leather handle with a brass hilt backed up with brass and black fiber spacers and a slightly rounded brass butt cap w/flush nut. A handsome 3/8" struck 10 kt. gold medallion noting our "50 Years" has been inlaid in the stag section of the handle. The blade is etched "A.T.S.-III", indicating the third "Andy Thornal Special" edition produced by Randall Made Knives for us exclusively. Also etched is the unique serial number for each knife in the edition.
The full grain leather model B sheath is stamped "Andy Thornal Special" above the Randall Made knives logo on the back of each sheath.
