I'm sorry, I think I meant PHAT! :D :D :D

Received a Cumming Bladeworks Dress Necker from Olde Towne Cutlery which was listed as 3/32" AEB-L and was (pleasantly) surprised at the actual thickness when I received it! Can't find my digital caliper at the moment but it appears around 1/16" next to a ruler. Lee at OTC said it was indeed .040 and that they needed to update the listings where appropriate.

How flippin cool is this, next to a 3/32" Ladyfinger blade??? And who is the lucky person with the excellent vision to put the makers mark on there?

Question: What is the largest model (Fiddleback Forge or Cumming Bladewords) where this stock can reasonably be used? Because it would be pretty damned neat to get this on Lil Lady or something of that nature. Just sayin'

Here it is next to a Runt for size comparison. (shameless plug, Runt for sale in Post 12872 btw)

Shout out to Lee & Melissa at OTC for outstanding customer service!! Another awesome Dealer to work with :thumbsup:

They did say they were going to use some .040 AEB-L in the CBW thread. Pretty sweet!

No kidding. My Utility has a quarter-inch more blade than your Dress Necker, I'd be pretty curious if it'll be implemented on any larger models. Really liking the feel of these in hand so far, solid Fiddleback handles.

Very exciting. That's the FFTT, right?

We will have to see. Im going to do some more stuff this weekend.

Sweet F2. I could probably add a thinner stainless one to my collection... Haha. The Tux one in the market place has been haunting me.

I'm anxiously awaiting the .040 filet knives. Let me know if you guys need some testing done on one of those! ;)

theres only 3 of those

I know... If I didn't have my 3/32 one it would already be headed my way, and now I'm hopefully going to put my knife budget towards this group buy, if it's there much longer I may not be able to resist.

Do you know who owns the 3rd? You have 1 in S35 right? Are you counting this AEB-L one also?

Yeah, thinner blade stock would be very welcome.

I had been contemplating some new kitchen knives but if Fiddlebacks become available in thinner stock I would rather get them.

All and any models would be on my buy list. For sure a warranty exception can be put on thinner stock blades if they are damaged while doing work that they are not meant for.

Yes mine is S35VN .Uncle P has one just like mine
I was not counting the AEBL one.

Andy,

Is there going to be any primary blade grind done on material this thin or is it just an edge grind on the flat steel? I can’t tell for sure from the photos.

Thanks,

Phil

In these pics the Dress Necker Jerry has and the F2 Phillip has both look to be edge-ground only. Which at that thickness...or rather thinness I should say, should do just fine.

We are still testing Phil. The idea initially was to test out a simple edge bevel.
