Uncle Bill asked me to post a quick description of how I like the bowie: I've been using it steadily for about a month, doing brush cutting, digging roots, of dead shrubs and plants, and splitting small kindling. The knife has performed extremely well. So far, only re-sharpened once on an India Stone after a couple hours of making kindling. The heft to it is great, and I can bring alot of power to bear for small and medium jobs. (Haven't tried to cut trees down yet...) But it is a great all around camp knife, a little big for tomato cutting, but great for EVERYTHING else around camp. Friends who have used around camp have mixed emotions about it. People with small hands will find it a bit unwieldy, and maybe to heavy. My wife falls into that category. But I love it, fits great, and the horn scales don't chafe at all.

I have an AK Bowie. This knife is a real "BEAST". I want to put a good edge on it with an old wheel stone but I didn't get one yet. (my brother is giving me one)---My son likes this beast very much. My opinion is you can't go wrong getting this AK.

Opps!!!! Thats the old lap top someone gave me, but anyhow, also, the handle is narrow enough for a fantastic grip and the full tang is thick as can be. A great tool or weapon from either end. Must of got the steel from a dozer blade. The things built like a Mack Truck or maybe I should say a Euclid,-- D-8-- a big Cat, etc.-- Ok, i'll stop here.

Oh Boy... Like I needed this now. I still have to wait another month on mine.

Bill, my wife just received the Bowie, thanks. She says it's a BIG UGLY BEAST, just how I like it. She can't wait and leave it alone and let me open the BOX, this is unfair. I wanted to get the surprise, since I was going to be home in two weeks, but instead she opens it and tells me about it as she is handling it. She always does this. It should be against the LAW for women to touch men's weapons.

Cobalt it still is the law in some cultures. (VBESEG)
Not only weapons, but other items as well. hehehehe.

Well, it made it at any rate, Cobalt. I think you are really going to like this knife.

Yes, Yvsa, but not ours!

Mine came out: 0.535” at its thickest and weighted 2.38 LB. The blade is approximately 9.5” long and the overall length is 15.5”. The blade is quite hard and should have good edge retention.

So far it does not perform as well as the 15" Ang Khola for chopping. It does seem to cut quite a bit better than the Ang Khola.
