I am relatively new to the world of Khukris.
Right now, I am deciding which khukri to buy.

I have read and heard a lot about the Ang Khola. Certainly, I am impressed. But I am also interested in the World War II model.

Now what would the more knowledgeable khukri collectors have to say? I will, for the time being, only pick one. Which one will it be?

Golok, what are you planning use your khukuri for? What jobs will you be doing with it? That may help you make the better choice.

My vote is to second the advice of both the above posts. What I mean by that is the AK may be a little better for a steady diet of heavy chopping, but the WW2 has earned the reputation of being the best all around khukuri. It's been said so much that if you're planning to have only one it's the WW2, that it's pretty much considered to be the gold standard. However, if you're a very large individual, you might be better served by a little larger knife.

I'm an average guy and was pleased with the WW2 as my first and "if I were to choose only one" khukuri. And I still hold to that philosophy...even after a dozen or so more! If your favorite model turns out to be another later, I suspect you'll agree the WW2 comes closest to doing it all.

But don't take my word for it, and I hope some other forumites offer differing ideas that might help you decide. Welcome to the forum....Dan

I am a big fan of the WWII khuks. Very versatile. The AK is a tough monster, but the WWII chops well AND slices well, and is less fatiguing to use (IMHO).
