I think judging someone simply because they are different is out of line.
There are a lot of people who are both knife and firearms enthusiasts who have what we may consider "less than desirable" fetishes or attitudes, such as S&M - I would be willing to bet that plenty of forumites play that scene, or some other one that others may find distasteful. At the same time this can be psychoanalyzed any number of ways, to attribute this disfunction or that dysfunction as a "causative" for such "behaviour". Some people like to blood-play, so what? What business of ours is it how people do what they do, provided both parties are willing and both have a good time (to their definition)?
IMO - we all can be a little nuts some of the time, and can come off as nuts a lot more of the time - especially those of us who have grown up in a less than ideal situation, with emotional damage being incurred - strangeness in how we feel a need to connect with people seems to be par for the course. Its not a bad thing, or even a big deal - and, despite negative comments I keep hearing, I dont think it presents a danger to others, such as children.
My experiance with people like this, who have made it this far and not gone downhill into drugs and booze, is that they are down to earth, very caring and very providing when it comes to others, especially children. Negative life experiance makes us want to make sure no one else ever has to experiance such things. My opinion is that she is a sane person and a most likely a good mother.
Besides - she's f*ckin' hot and she likes knives! whats left to bitch about?
