angle grinder or hacksaw

Seeking some advice.

I have a blade with a rather useless saw-teeth section on the top of a blade (a bit like the USAF pilot knife serrations but deeper and thinner). This saw was intended to cut wood but I have little use for it as I have a rucksack and it just outcuts everything.

Steel is 440C.

Should I use an angle grinder with reinforced cut off wheel to just slice off the whole section. OR should I use the same angle grinder with a grinding wheel to grind it off slowly. OR should I use a hacksaw to cut it off. I know that there are tempering issues if I use the grinding wheel so that I why I am soliciting information. Can some you with practical experience advise me here?

Thanks

You can't go wrong with a file!
Grind with the angle grinder. Quench frequently with cold water.

It is very difficult to cut high hardness and high carbide steel with a hacksaw. I would grind it off. Since there is a lot of metal it is much harder to overheat it. Just grind in smooth passes along the top, don't stop in one place. Watch the heat and don't let it build up excessively.

Thanks for the suggestions all. I'll use the grinder to start and file+sandpaper for the detailed final polish.

Appreciate the help.
