Hi all,

I'm a Canadian custom knifemaker, and was approached by a collector here a few evenings ago for some advice and help on deaccessioning some pieces from his collection. He has no-one in his family that is interested, is getting a bit older, and wants things to go where they will be appreciated and valued.

The centerpiece of the collection is a boxed set of Angus Arbuckle fighters. Arbuckle was a fairly well known knifemaker in South Africa, active up to the early or mid '80s. Is there anyone here who could help value this set? I would also pass on offers to purchase if anyone is interested.

I'm not acting as a broker, I'm just trying to help this collector out (he doesn't seem to be at all active on Social Media). I know he'd appreciate any assistance finding these knives a home where they'd be valued.

The knives are in Cobourg, Ontario, Canada.

ps to the moderators:

Sorry for posting a version of this from an inandequate membership level. I do actually know better than to post to a new platform without reading the rules. I hope this is ok in this forum, I didn't want to put it in the exchange, because I'd actually like to provoke any relevant discussion on Angus Arbuckle's work, not just post a for-sale sign.

Thank you, Adam. We'll leave this for now for folks to look at, but the truth of the matter is that the owner is the only one that would have the right to sell them here, (with the proper membership), or through one of our supporting dealers.

That said, I have no issue with anyone contacting you privately via PM, email or whatever means to discuss this outside of the thread. (Hint.)

And, thank you for both your understanding, and your support of bladeforums.
