If you're looking for a good watch you should, IMHO, take a look at one of these.
First of all I was a skeptic, but I wanted a tough watch for working in the woods. I didn't want to spend much on a watch I thought would get tore up, this was only $100. I collect watches, TSAR's, variety of Seiko divers, Citizen,s, Omega. So it takes a good watch to surprise me, and this has so far.
It's a Mod GW-1500a, powered by light, not just sunlight but fluorescent light also, it's set by the Atomic clock, (I've checked it against the Atomic clock program on computer), and it's always dead on accurate. I use it to set my other watches.
There's a variety of other features, too many to list here, you find them with Google.
I did a couple Mods on it, I swapped out the band for a more comfortable Seiko band. I also blacked out some of the lettering, I left the adjustment buttons.

I've had mine for a little over 3 years now, one of my favorite ani/digi G's.

List of the specs:
•Full Auto EL Backlight: Automatically deactivates the Auto EL backlight function when surrounding light is sufficient, and activates it under dim light or dark conditions.
•Shock Resistant: Shock-resistant construction protects against impact and vibration.
•Solar Power: A solar cell provides power for operation.
•Atomic time keeping. Charges in sun light or indoors.
•Atomic Watch: This watch receives time calibration radio signals that keep the displayed time accurate.
•World Time: Displays the current time in 30 major cities and specific areas around the world.
•Stopwatch: Accurate measurement of elapsed time with the touch of a button. The fraction indicates the unit of measurement, while the time figure indicates the maximum time measurement.
•Daily Alarm, Hourly Time Signal. The daily alarm sounds each day at the time you set. The hourly time signal causes the watch to beep every hour on the hour. Snooze Feature Each time you stop the alarm, it sounds again after a few minutes.
•Battery Level Indicator: Indicator shows the current battery level.
•Full Auto Calendar: Allowances are made automatically for months of different lengths, in case date corrections for leap years are required.
•12/24-hour Timekeeping: Times can be displayed in either a 12-hour or 24-hour format.
•Mineral Glass Hard glass resists scratching.
•Resin Band.
•200 meters water Resistant.
•Warranty: 1 year by Casio.
•Size of case/total weight 56.2 x 47.5 x 16.6mm / 60g.

That looks superb. I keep returning to Casio for durability. And apart from bands breaking from sweat they have lasted until theft. My first Casio was the C-80.

The GW-1500 is readily available at Walmart for around a c-note. Good watch. However I've been eyeballing the new "Aviator" GW-2500. The blacked out display against the stainless bezel is killer cool. I'm thinking it's destined to replace the GW-1500 series in your local Wally World display case.

Too bad Casio can't do lume worth a hoot. Decent lume would make these ani-dig Gs the cat's meow.

My watches lume turned out good. My camera can't show it very well though.
The lume is kind of redundant anyway because the display lights up, IMHO.

I have noted that the Casios are mediocre in the lumi dept. EF 305T and HDA-600 are my daily users. The second rather cheap but has a steel clip over the face and excellent to see the time on a glance whilst driving. The Titanium is comfortable and looks neat.

Unfortunately we do not get access to Atomic time and not really that needed in a relaxed environment. My son wants one with a compass.
