this knife has come up for sale a couple of times over the past year and a bit, and I've always desired it, but lacked the scratch to make it happen.

Having waited for so long, imagine my happiness when I was informed that I could have the knife for what I could afford to pay!

I just got it today, and it just so happens to be my wife and my 5th wedding anniversary. What a nice gift for myself! My wife only gets a fancy dinner out:D

This knife is SO light, and fits my hand SO perfectly. It's really nicely made, and apart from a few imperfections in the blade's finish it's just about the most nicely finished knife I own. Too bad Mr. Primos isn't doing knives anymore. I did a ton of research on him, and he's put lots of great knives and information out there.

Happy Anniversary and Happy Primos! I've got a few of his knives and they are top notch.

thanks all! Isn't she a beauty?
Not as beautiful as my wife, of course:D

Lorien thats a real good one it's got all the right stuff

I hope you use it if you do I think it's qualitys will really shine thru to you and you will see why I like big bowies for actual user knives

A knife like that can just do things.

What are the specs does it have a distel taper

By the way congrats and happy anniversary

Joe, I've already taking the ceramics to the edge:D
Can't wait to get it out in the bush.

I have a Fallkniven NL1 which is a similar knife, but it has no palm swell, and that at least is critical for a big knife like this, or at least a hook at the end of the handle. Anyway, even with a lanyard, the idea of that big knife flying out of my hand is damn scary.
I was thinking that this would be the knife to replace the NL1, (anyone out there want a used NL1?:)). My Takeda bowie is the highest performance knife I've used, and sadly, I don't think this one will approach the Takeda's performance either.

The stock is 6mm thick at the ricasso, and it tapers down pretty quick, then shallows out toward the center. The spine is really nicely rounded and the hand polish is very nice, if not perfect, (I don't care though, it's a user). There appear to be a couple of RC test dings in the blade as well, or at least that's what I think they are. The guard is fitted perfectly, and the precision of the knife is really really good. Blade measures out at 9 3/4 and the handle is exactly 5". There is a very wispy hamon in there too. I wonder if he'd meant to etch this knife? Balance point is about an inch forward of the ricasso.

Lorien, great looking knife and happy anniversary!

I got a great anniversary present a few years ago, a Karl Andersen Knife before he earned his JS stamp! Nice gifts!

I'm glad you got that one Lorien, that's a beauty and tempted me sorely. Congrats to you!

did I mention how friggin light it is?
she's a shaver now, not quite the cuttin machine that my Goo is, but damn - what a sweet blade! I'm so stoked!

That's a fine bowie - Terry did some really nice work. Congrats on the anniversary.

seems like we are in the same boat. I think I have eyed that one more than once.

Nice grab.

Don't worry about the finish imperfections. That just means you don't have to worry about the first scratch from using it.

Congratulations man, that's a beauty!

Kind regards,

Jos
