The cat is out of the bag ...

Over the last 4 months, rumors have been flying around the web about a new project that was being developed in the "Custom Knife Industry" for the Internet.

Having just officially launched the new site at the 2000 Blade Show, we were relieved that the secret was finally out of the bag! It was incredible to hear the "tall tales" from all the show visitors and we laughed at how hard it is to keep a secret quiet for that amount of time ... while the new project was being developed and debugged.

The project will continue to grow, and continually redefine the boundaries of custom knife sales and trade on the web, which until now, has never been supported on it's own! This site is about makers, collectors, purveyors and enthusiasts of the custom knife art form. And, the technology we'll bring to support it, will be hard pressed to match over time.

Because many of you already know me and my company http://www.AtlantaVirtual.com , you know much work we put into building the "Custom Knife World" on the web with all the sites, banners, hosting and other things we develop and produce here! Here! Here! I'm glad that the word is out!
Everyone......this guy is for real. I've been around the custom knife world for over a decade, and Mr. Whetsell knows what he is doing. If your a quality maker looking for an outlet, or you need a new website (or your old one revamped) this is the guy to see.
The Custom Knife Directory is likely the most inexpensive avenue your going to find to put your work up on the world wide web, and with Alex at the controls, I have no doubt that this site will be the one that everybody will be chasing after! Kudos to Alex for putting together a top notch project for the custom knife industry!

Thanks for the great compliments on the new CKD ... Really, I mean it! I guess there is some ego on the line when you post up a new site. It's just like you men when you show a new piece to someone, "you want a good reaction to help you validate your work!"

Here's the real news ...
It looks like the Custom Knife industry is growing well! Over the last 48 hours, the CKD has been bombed by over 3800 visitors and every available custom piece is being viewed during the visits. Our e-newsletter newsletter signups are over 1000 now! The wildest thing is that a large percentage are coming from non-english speaking countries which proves that we can open maker exposure to markets around the planet!

With the "live audio", "translation interfacing" and "virtual touring" capability of the new site, we can entertain collectors, purveyors and enthusiasts of the custom knife ... like no other Internet address on the planet!

That's why we've been building all of the individual maker and supplier sites with the same technology and architecture as the CKD. We've been creating the matrix for one main "megasite" that will hopefully become the single greatest overall resource for the Custom Knife business worldwide!

A single transaction from contact made through our "supply center" produced a $42,000 material order for one of our supply members. Not bad for a $25 dollar web page ... Agree? ;-)
