OK folks,
I'm back from an incredible BLADESHOW! We had a great time and meet many new forumites, and got to see many old friends. If you miss the Bladeshow, you are missing the event of the year. You better start making plans NOW for next year.

We are proud to announce that the CAMILLUS/O.V.B. Fisk Bowie was voted the Blade Collaboration of 2002! We are honored to recieve this award that was awarded to us by a vote of our peers attending the show. We also announced the next knife in the series, another Fisk Commanchero Bowie, this time in high grade desert Ironwood! We will be building 500 numbered and dated pieces, just like the last run, but this time the knives will feature the most beautiful Ironwood we could find. Also like last time, we let Jerry do the "shopping" for the handle material, and he really has an eye for good wood.

We plan on shipping these knives sometime in August, and with the increased cost of the handle material, the suggested retail price will be $309.95.

We told all of the dealers and distributors that bought the first OVB Bowie that they would have the oppourtunity to buy the same quantity of knives from this run as they did last time. Everyone has taken that option. So, my advice to my forumite friends is that if you want one of the second edition Bowies, get on somebody's waiting list NOW! I would start with the folks that are Authorized Dealers for CAMILLUS.

Here is a pic for your viewing pleasure.....:D

Congratulations to Camillus, Will, and Jerry for the well deserved award you were given at Blade! Thanks for the pic too, this next one is simply stunning.

Great to meet you at Blade Will. This new Fisk OVB is going to be hotter than the last one if thats possible. I've already got 2 on order.:D Great pic but wait til you see it in person.

Will, what's the chance of Camillus sending the same serial numbers to the dealers that they received the first time. That way the ones of us who bought the first one could get a matching number on the second.:D

I got to play with the display model at the show. Bar none the most beautiful factory bowie I've ever seen :D

*whoah* nevermind.
I was getting pix of buckmaster folders instead of the Fisk Bowie & then it fixed itself.
Need either coffee or a nap... off to figure out which.

HD,
Sorry, but we cannot guarantee that we will get the same serial numbers to the same customers. Its all in the way that we ship backorders, and unfortunately, it just won't work out that way.

Rugger,
you noticed my little mistake! I uploaded the wrong pic.....but its fixed now;)

To Will and the good people at Camillus involved in the OVB project - please take care on that edge grind when you do this next run of the Fisk OVB! I agree with all of the enthusiasm over the first run - this is an outstanding production Bowie at a very fair price. But the one fault I saw in a few samples of the first run knife (including the one I purchased) was in the final cutting edge grind. The edge should be straight along the length of the blade - on my knife and a few others I saw, this edge tended to wander a bit, creating a very slight recurve effect which I am sure was not intended. Also the edge bevel increased in width as it swept up to the blade tip.
I know the cutting edge is hand ground, but in all other respects this knife has been executed to very high standards and the edge deserves the same attention to detail!

Thanks Will!
I thought it was my "wetware" that had downloaded the wrong photo...
Very nice knife!
Regards,
Mike

I thought I had to next year until I got in trouble with my wife for buying yet another knife!;)
Simply gorgeous ironwood! I look forward to "August"
One more bit of advice.... don't insert the knife into the sheath after the blade has been oiled. The inside of my OVB#1 sheath has a perpetual oil source that deposits a teeny little bit if I sheath it now. I am looking forward to the arrival of OVB#2

Keep up the good work, Mongo

Will,

Cheryl has my order as well. Super job as usual!

Now, what have you folks got in mind for handle materials for III, IV, V, and VI??? heheheheheheh

All the best!
