Ok so i have this problem with just about all of my liner lock knives. When it locks itself up the lock slips past the wedge on the blade that is used to stop the lock in a certain position. It keeps going past that point and getting stuck. is there anything i can do that will keep it from basically over extending. I thought it was just something that my cheap knives did but my tenacious doesnt do it (not saying its cheap) but i just got a blur and its starting to do it now too. and its making me sad :(

The best workaround is to stop buying linerlock knives!

Just kidding, I don't have any problems with my Spyderco linerlocks (I prefer lockbacks or AXIS locks).

I ordered two Kershaw linerlock knives and they sucked so bad with blade play, (horizontal & vertical) and sucky linerlocks, that it took all of about two hours to get RMA's retape the box and have them back at the Post Office drop off. They were low-end offerings.

Sounds like wear, assuming the knives in question are not newish.

How do you open and close these knives? I've noticed some people seem to put closing tension on the blade as they move the lock over to the unlocked position - which accelerates wear.

I've found that on my liner lock knives that the harder I flick them open the further the lock moves over. I don't think it's a problem. You could try opening them with less snap and see what happens.

Send it to Kershaw for a replacement , I have not seen one do that , other than a few blems, but that was why they were blems. You may be opening it harder than some others , but it still should not do that. I have cycled blurs thousands of times and can tell you that it needs to be replaced. Just send it in and they will take care of you.
