It's in a different location this year. Rickey's Hyatt is a nice place. Lots of good restaraunts close by.

It was fun to meet up with the forumites at last years' show. Let's do it again!

Saturday for me also...

I will be carrying a brown leather bag full of knives as my identification:D

see you there..................

I'll be there on saturday, I'll try to get there by 10 :)
Will bring my digicam.

Saturday....and bringing "trading stock" too.

You guys do "trade" don't cha?... ;)

For those of you who weren't there - GO TOMORROW!!

I had a great time meeting a number of very talented knifemakers and very friendly forumites, both new faces and old ones.

I won't be there on Sunday (I'll be at Folsom), but if you didn't go today you really need to check it out.

Randy did an excellent job of organizing the show and I want to thank him and everyone else who made this year's BAKCA show so great.

The show was great ;) had a pleasure meeting very interesting people.

Finally met Phil Wilson, hopefully my CPM10V project will get started :)
Strider guys were totaly cool :D

Randy, thanks for a great show. Please give everyone that helped putting it together a big pat on the back and thanks. Hey Gator, after viewing your pix, I gotta ask, did you see any of the other tables besides Striders? Great pix, and Strider's knives are nice. I guess you could call them BFK's, kind of after the BFR's out at Pantex!:D It was amazing to watch Ken Onion show up and in less than 2 minutes be sold out! Tom Mayo was sold out of all his thumb stud folders as well! The various Randalls on display were awesome as well as the many other custom makers there. Randy, I must apologize for the trail of drool up and down the aisleways, but I don't think it was all mine! If any of you didn't make it yesterday, get out there today!

Hank:cool:

The BAKCA Knife Show was a really wonderful experience. I was able to attend the show for a few hours on Saturday. This was the first knife show that I have attended and it was really memorable. I was greatly impressed with the high quality and beauty of the knives exhibited and enjoyed meeting some of the knife makers and manufacturer's executives and being able to talk with them. BAKCA is to be commended for their efforts.

Hank, Jason, and James...

Where was I? Where were you? We got there at 11 and hung left...
Right turn, right turn, and right turn...and we we're spending the next hour with Scott Moore....trying to get that white handled Al Mar A/F outta him...

Ended up selling Scott a few older NIB Al Mar fixed blade SOG "Bowies", then spent another hour with Jim Schick aka "nifeboy", and his wife Sandra...Looking for a few RMK's, but not finding the "grail"...

We also had a little face time with SH and SAS, but I was wayyyy under the weather, so sorry if I wasn't my normal "cheerful" self...

Talked a bit with ewok, russ, jerome, tom, and nifrand...then headed for the door some 4 hours later...and spent the rest of the day sleeping it off...I was one siiick puppy!

Lots of nice knives, lots of nice folks....but where was this "Hermes" guy? Does he really exist?

We missed ya Jimmy..."sob"

A funny side story...I slept through the boarding of my flight at SJI this morning... the sick puppy needed his rest I guess...caught the next flight...2 hours later!

Still sick, off to bed...soon... "ta"

Excellent show Randy!!! (and all others involved)....must have been some kind of fix going on tho:confused: as one of the organizers won the drawing for the Ken Onion giveaway blade!!!;) :)

was a really great show..I picked up a nice litle knife called a "trout scalpel" from Jim Sorenberger for my Dad..

...got me a HUGE Tom Mayo fixed blade..double edged and hair shaving sharp....(he had to show me how sharp , by shaving his leg!!)

also picked up a Jerry Hosom small fighter from Larry and Vince from Bladeart..met several makers and talked with several forumites....Hermes, sas, swong13, to mention a few.......

way to go BAKCA!!!! already looking ahead to next year..... saw you there Jason..(medusablongota) but you were busy with Larry Chew..then missed ya after that.....see you all later......

A very great show!

I'm more of a hobbyist knifemaker, so I usually go to buy materials. There's always a good selection of stabilized woods, and skins for sheaths.

For some reason, this year I bought a few raffle tickets. I'm not sure why, because I absolutely never win at raffles. But this time, I actually won a prize! A California Auto that was donated by California Knives (http://www.californiaknives.com) It's kewl! I was so stoked! I stopped by their table to say thanks. Then I bought a ray skin pouch for it from Adam Unlimited.

As I said, a very great show! Got a chance to BS a bit with Recluse, Medusaoblongata, Nifrand, Tom Mayo, Scott Slobodian, and a whole slew of others.
