Every year my wife and I make a point of going on a hike on or about my birthday which falls on 23 April (St. George's Day). This year's expedition spanned two days and is chronicled on my website here. Enjoy and please feel free to comment!

Nice to see you had a good b'day
No wind any bugs out yet?
Thanks for posting

Thanks for the wishes and comments. The 23rd was very windy with white caps on the lake. The 24th and 25th were dead calm and around 18 degrees Celsius. Plenty of insects but nothing blood sucking. The blackfly season generally starts in May, depending on temperature trends. That having been said, non-insect blood suckers have been active here since March, and we've been pulling them off our dogs with regularity.
