For those of you who didn't see this at the Spyderco forum here is my Mini Manix customized by STR:

I weighed it and came out at 5.27 oz. but I think my scale is off... I think its actually a lot lighter than that. Somewhere between 4-4.5oz would be my guess.

I think bead blasted titanium is a great upgrade for this knife... its lighter, has a very secure grip, is thinner (which makes it a great EDC), probably just as strong (if not stronger), and its BLUE! :D

I highly recommend STR, he does most excellent work.

Very nice. Steve does some excellent work. Plus with titanium you can get a rainbow of colors.
Doesn't the Manix weigh 6.2oz or something. I think. :)

Thanks. It says in the catalog that the 80mm Manix weighs in at 5.5oz or 154grams. I thought it felt lighter than factory after the titanium scales were built for it, but its very hard to tell unless you have one in each hand and even then its hard to distinquish unless the difference is pretty great. One of these days I'll get me a scale to use to find out on these upgrades.

Alls I have is two full sets of mint condition full size Manix and 80mm Manix liners and G10 scales. I guess I'll have to make some blades, lockbars, springs and cut some screws for them to get a working knife one day. :D

I'm actually gathering quite a repository of used and new Spyderco parts.

Dodo scales, in blue and black, and all kinds of misc. stuff. One day I'll have to inventory the clips and stuff like that to keep track of it.
