Anodized BM Skirmish and mini Skirmish!

Oooh nice, I'd love to hear how you got the anodization colors so spot-on in those handle divots. Excellent work for sure!

The colors in the divots were actually already on the knife but they were barely visible just because the handles were dark green and really scratched and scuffed up. The colors just were dull and lost. I wanted to preserve those colors and not anodize them away so I carefully filled the divots with clear nail polish and let them dry for a few hours. Then I scotch-brited the handles down to clean smooth Ti and anodized. After that I took some acetone and used Q-tips to clean out the finger nail polish. I was happy to see that the divot colors were protected and shined up from the acetone and some windex.

Aluminum anodizing is more complex. I've never tried it because I think it involves dyes and acids. Also I just like Titanium since 90% of my knives are Ti framelocks.

Gotcha, I knew Ti anodizing was (relatively) simple, didn't know about aluminum. Still, very nice work :)

Just finished the mini-skirmish to go along with the big skirmish. Peter wanted the blues to match. Couldn't get the lockside blue though due to the pivot nut being stuck in the handle so I decided to do a Two-Tone bronze and blue. The presence of the steel though threw some purple highlights into the mix....
