I have a couple of $100+ knives that the black anodized aluminum is showing wear. Does anyone have suggestions to repair or improve the look? I have thought of sanding all the black off the knives, but then you would have a bright aluminum knife...
Any suggestions?
Black sharpie cleans it up for about 1 minute!
I thought anodizing would be a bit longer lasting?? We are talking a Piranha auto and a Benchmade auto, both aluminum frame.

Unfortunately, anodizing on aluminum is very susceptible to wear and there's not much to be done as far as touch-ups. I suggest you embrace the "battle-scarred" look. It looks bad at first when there's only a little wear, but ends up being really cool when it looks like it's been to hell and back again. Alternatively, there are a few guys around the forums that specialize in anodization. If you get sick of the wear you can send it to them to have it sanded off and re-anodized to whatever color you like, and generally it's not too terribly expensive.
