Those are strange colors for a torch. The edges look like the colors were scribbled on. Some kind of dye maybe applied with a brush?

Hmnmmm ..... looks like "This knife has never been used and is like new" ;)

not too sure this is flame anodizing but it resembles flame anodizing over other anodizing methods.

either way it could've been done a little better.

Maybe the flame was held too close and got too hot too fast. (Usually that creates a dull grey though).

The brown colors are not good :D

I used to have one that was torch anodized. Looks a little different than yours, though...

Now THAT's a nice torch anodizing!!!! Super cool!

That's the nicest snakewood Seb I've ever seen as well. Awesome collection...

It doesn't look terrible, but could it have been someone's attempt at an oil can finish? Similar to how some golf clubs are treated? That's the only way I could think of how the browns could have ended up like that.

Where did that come from??

You should be able to guess from my comment ...... "This knife has never been used and is like new" It's listed on ebay as such. Like new ......? Don't think it came from Mr. Reeve like that! Never been used? Well, maybe not to cut anything, but looks like it was "used" in some kind of experiment.

Yeah, they're all gone but the small insingo. That snakewood has been bounced around to at least four members other than me, that I know of.

Also, I just looked at that listing on the bay and my heart sank for a split second. I thought the birth card said April 21 (my birthday)!

That is painful to look at. :thumbdn:

That's what I thought, too. I like the idea behind it, and had it been done right, might have been interested. But not like that! :thumbdn:

Yeah, that cracked me up. And that thing's going to stay on the bay, too. I'm not going to touch it with anyone's 10" pole!

They must believe in full disclosure.....

Either that or they are truely ignorant in which case should either do some research before selling or dont sell at all!

looks like the guy who tried to anodize didnt realize you need to heat evenly and gradually or this happens lol

side note, that will prolly buff out
