I just can't stop messing with things. And I really like the look of anodized titanium. so I bought a variable DC power supply, some TS P, some titanium wire and a titanium blank. But here are some questions?
1. I noticed many people do a chemical etch on the titanium prior to anodizing. is this necessary. I looked in several places on the Internet. Mr. titanium seems to be the best. It looks like etching gives you additional colors. is that true? Doesn't do anything else?
2. i've noticed a few people who do no prep on the titanium except for decreasing and cleaning. Will that work fine?
3. i've also read that putting a nice finish on the titanium makes the colors brighter. Is this true?
4. if I put a satin finish on the titanium handles isn't that similar to etching. would I get the same increase in colors as with chemical etching?
I will probably go with a blue as that seems to be a lower voltage....
less likely to zap myself.
Any other hinte before I do this.
