My anodizing equipment just came in, so I'm just about ready to go, but I've never anodized before. I've read online that you need to put nail polish remover on the detent ball before anodizing, because you don't want the ball itself anodized. Can someone give me more specific direction than this? These are my questions:
- Do you heavily coat the ball, or just lightly coat it?
- Do you wait for the nail polish remover to dry?
- When do you apply the nail polish remover? Before dipping in the whink to remove previous ano, or after?
- When you're done, do you remove the nail polish remover, or does it come off naturally through use?
- If you need to actually remove the nail polish remover, how do you do that?
- Is there anything else I need to know about this?
- Bonus question: Do I have to mask the steel lockbar insert?
