Hey all,

I just got a fresh 940, and I love it other than the shade of purple BM used on the backspacer.

I read a post or two on here of somebody sanding down the backspacer and anodizing it another color, and the process was described as pretty simple.

Has anyone done this, and if so any tips?

I'm just glad it's purple! I bought mine and the first thing my wife and daughter said was, "I love the Pink on the back"
I said it looked purple to me when I bought it. Being new with Benchmade I googled it because I thought maybe it was a pink backspacer version geared more toward women. I was going to paint it or sand it or something. But once I learned that it was Purple, not pink and they all came that way I was okay with it again.

But from where I googled it, you can change it if you want.

Titanium is indeed easy to anodize. Without using a power supply to get an exact color you can daisy chain 9v batteries for power. 4 or 5 (can't exactly remember) got me a lovely shade of blue on the liners of my daughters Stryker. If you search you'll find methods for stripping the original ano and voltage charts for the 9v's.

Very easy to do. If you are even slightly handy I recommend giving it a go. :)

Just rub down the edge with wire wool, simples.
Take the knife apart and remove the spacer first.
