Has anyone noticed that there have been a few sebs with colored scales fs on the forums lately....... teal, bronze, and maybe a light purple or

blueish purple. Most don't seem to be selling tho. The prices aren't much cheaper than a regular priced CRK.

I like mine in basic CRK gray, thanks.

They are neat when done well. I wouldn't buy anything someone customized at home unless there was a big discount. If I'm going to chance voiding the warranty, I'd better be getting a really good deal (on a ~$400 knife). There are varying opinions on whether this voids the warranty. Unless CRK themselves chime in with a post that says "Go for it", I'll assume it breaks the warranty even if someone says they just got off the phone with CRK.

Call me old fashioned but I have to side with clockman on this one.. Mind you I don't have a problem with someone customizing their knife, and I have to admit that some of them look dam nice!! One great example is the Umnumzaan Jim Skelton had Customized by Chris Martin if you haven't seen his video of this knife you need to check it out. It is absolutely amazing!!

That thing is sweet!! Wow! That guy does amazing work! I think the blue 25 was pretty sweet that someone picked up off the exchange. I think it was Franzdom. But I could be wrong

Yea that is some amazing work!! Probably cost more than the price of a couple of Umnums.

It was actually me who picked that blue 25 up, Karbon did the anodize job. I felt it was absolutely worth the price, essentially the price of a new 25 which it basically was, yet with a beautiful finish which is a major bonus to a knife i'd been meaning to try out anyways. The seller's pictures spoke for themselves that it was a quality professional job, so i didn't expect any sort of discount on the knife just because it was modified, the excellent work actually adds value in my eyes because it's more unique and beautiful.

I like anodized titanium, I've been kind of bored with the gray color of titanium which is why i prefer decorated or inlay sebenza's lately. The anodized colors add a nice flare and you can still use the knife as easily as a bare titanium knife without fear of marking it up like you might with a wood inlay.

I actually haven't seen that many anodized sebenza 25's for sale on the exchange though, maybe just another bronze one if i remember correctly. One thing i don't personally care for are the nuked sebenza's, i don't like the whole blade and hardware being messed with like that. It's just personal preference, but the handle color change is as far as i'd have a titanium knife changed.

Here's is the one i got again for those who haven't seen it, it's nice and tasteful in my opinion, not too crazy, the color matches the thumb studs which is cool.

I would normally not want an anodized sebenza. However, I traded an XM-18 for a 25 that was previously anodized and a bunch of cash. Prior to completing the trade, I called CRK and asked if it voided the warranty. The nice lady that answered the phone said that electro-chemical anodizing can be undone with a simple spa treatment and doesn't void the warranty. I think the distinction is the process, heat anodizing could possibly change the specs and therefore may void the warranty. That being said, I completed the trade and ended up with this:

I may some day send it in for a spa treatment to get it back to the good 'ol grey but I have no issues with this knife and am liking the little marks and wear so for now, it is staying bronze.

What a gorgeous blue!!! Karbon really outdid himself. Congrats on owning such a knife.

I like to admire the modified CRK's on the forums, but as for owning and using one for myself--I prefer stock for the most part.

I wanted to anodize but seems vrry difficult with the inlays

I do not have any plains to send....

im loving the bronze, id love an umnum in bronze drool

I am quite happy with my large regular Sebenza in bronze & blue. The work was done by Bladeforums member Maprik who did an excellent job.
