ive heard that anodizing will fade over time with use. if anodizing was performed to a very high wear area like a pocket clip, would it rub off sort of like a ti coated blade or would the color just gradually fade?
 
The annodization will wear off.

Titanium anodization is less than 5 millionth of an inch thick. You can remove it with rubbing compound. However, you can re-anodized titanium if you have the right power supply with relative ease compared to the more difficult process for aluminum.

Aluminum anodization is thicker but it too will wear off.

thats correct it will wear of and scuff and scratch too,

while i suppose ya can re ano ti the examples i have seen have varied from being "ok" to "funky", i dont think most folks are gonna be successfull at that, YMMV though, in very fewe cases will it match the factory ano in any case.
