Any members out there know how to strip the color off of anondized aluminum scales and add a different color? Is this a procedure of sanding the scales, or can another color be put on, over the color that is currently on the scales? When another color is applied, either after sanding or over the current color, what is the best way of adhering the paint to the scales so it doesn't flake off?

Any time and help for my questions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, birdave.

Anodizing is not the same as painting, if I understand correctly it is like electroplating color to the aluminum. It certainly won't flake off. I don't know about anodizing over another color.

Thanks to those who've replied. Link supplied by Dwyltmwf is great info....thanks very much for that. For the amount of anodizing I would do (very little), it wouldn't be worth investing in the kit. Thanks again for the replies, Joep.
