My little pocket torx tool does'nt have a T-10. No big deal go and get a T-10 torx driver. I liked having a compact tool to service my knives in the field. Does anybody know who makes a t-10 in the thin 1/8 bit size. Zt should make something like the Kershaw Keychain Torx Tool.
Know what I would really like instead of a tool, is a T-10 pivot bolt to match the handle. Like for real, why
in a heavy duty folder do you make the pivot smaller than all the other hardware. When I took it apart the pivot tube felt really lightweight(probably still really strong with 0 tolerances and all, no really everything fit together really well with tight tolerances in a good way) . I really liked the pivot bolt with the nut for adjusting like on the 0300. Now what I really really want is a 0560 with 0300 nut and bolt pivot.
My dream zt0560 will also include sealed bearings so its impossible for grit to get in there. I am a
heavy truck mechanic and there dirty. Some places under big truck aint ever seen water. So I get pretty dirty at work. The blade still flies open smoother than anything but when closing it or moving the blade slowly I hear grit in there. I cleaned the grit out of the pivot once by full disassembly. Tomorrow I will do it again but this time put some superlube in there. I will let you all know if that keeps thing quiet. How cool would it be if it had sealed bearing though.
This is officially my longest post on any forum. Sorry if its hard to read,I only got a GED. Thanks for reading.

I read it just fine :)

Glad to see a 560 out and about being used and I don't think your wants are unreasonable. Not sure it will ever happen, but they make sense.

I can see from your pocket stuff that you are a hard working man! Sealed bearings would be great, but I do not remember any knife with them. It would be interesting.

I'm pretty sure Wiha makes a pocketable set of Torx drivers from T6-T20. Maybe that would work for you?

There are plenty of people with fancy degrees and terrible everyday grammar.

I agree with you on the pivot bolt, I really liked the solid bolt on the 0200. Chances are the reason they didn't put it on this knife is that the primary complaint against the 0200/0300 was weight.
Sealed bearings would slow down the action a bit, so whether or not this is the right knife to put them on is a good question. If they were going to do another one I would take a choil model XM-18 design and seal that up, and maybe make the thumbstuds a little more oversized like the M.U.D.D. (while still retaining their stop-pin functionality).

Good morning - a few comments on your post. Despite the fact that the handle screws can fit a T-10, they can also easily be turned with a T-8. If you need to take it apart with only a T-8, it should not be a problem.

Sealed bearings would be nice, but the biggest issue is space. Any bearing we use needs to be thin enough to fit in a pocket in the handle. With most of the sealed bearings I have seen, you would probably need to make the handle over an inch thick to accommodate them. The 0560 is currently 0.57 inches at the thickest part of the handle.

I took mine apart and measured the bearings with a caliper. 4mm bore with a little over 12mm outer diameter. The problem is they are only 2mm in depth and I can't find anything with 2mm width in a 4mm bore. Most seem to start at a 4mm width. I only spent a few minutes searching but I'd like to try sealed bearings as an experiment if I can find them in the proper size.

Try using a lube that doesn't attract dirt like Quick Release. http://quickreleaseoil.com/

I bought the 0560 despite some misgivings- one, that I've expressed before, is that polymer washer that the bearings are installed in. I've seen polymer parts deteriorated by contact with less-common lubricants and solvents before- notably recoil buffers in firearms- with really bad results. There are certain brand-name lubes that have that reputation, and I've seen alcohol, which works fine to clean all-metal assemblies, cause plastics to fracture and actually crumble. Saw the same thing with a grease someone used on some nylon gears, the white nylon yellowed, shrank and started to crack within a few months.

I've also seen guys in the field pour any solvent at hand into the pivot of folding knives to get sand, dust, mud or crud out. At that point vodka, Coleman fuel, Windex, whatever seems like a good idea, because leaving the crud in there sure isn't.

Anyway, it's not necessarily a huge deal, like I said I bought it anyway, but I'm going to be really, really careful about what lubes I let contact that bearing. Unless I know it's safe for plastics, or it explicitly says so, I'm going to be really hesitant.

The other side of the coin (so to speak) is that there are some polymers that are virtually impervious to everything that won't dissolve the knife... And to some things that will.

And yes sealed bearings always mean more drag/stiction for release, if they are really sealed.

Agreed. If I knew it was PTFE or similar I wouldn't be at all concerned... and it could be, not the cheapest option but it would be hard to beat for reducing friction... but since I have no idea what that blue washer is or what it might react with I'm going to continue to be cautious.

Brains and logic often spell defeat for a big ole degree paid for by mama.
Sonny. Your post was clear and to the point.
