Another $100 gone

Just ordered up another IZULA(Pink) for my girly for a small xmas present. She will be coming along with me on more and more outings as we plan to thru-hike the appalachian trail. Thought she could use a handy knife. She loves mine and it works perfect with her small hands, plus its pink.

.....on the selfish side while i was making a knife order had to go ahead and grab the RAT Fire kit. I've been comparing the striker videos on youtube today. While the LiteMyFire seemed more manageable and lit the shavings faster...I saw the power of the RAT striker and it seemed to be the real deal for rain/wind/snow...not just the perfect day as the video had. Plus the storage for dry tinder and such. Couldnt be passed up

snagged a few other do-dads like sharpeners, nothing much.


Just pumped i guess thought id share.

PS...I read alot of reviews for RAT at woodsmonkey.com....very neutral reviews and all facts. Great side if your looking at the RAT lineup
 
I've been seeing more and more Izulas ordered for girlfriends and wives in threads lately. I can only hope to find a woman that would be happy recieveing a knife for Christmas!!! The fire kit is a great set up, I'm sure you'll really enjoy it.
They make pink para-cord to wrap the handle. I think someone posted a thread the other day and said where he found it.
 
I could think of worse ways to spend $100, I'll probably drop that much at the bar tonight
and have nothing to show for it :D

I wish I could get the wife interested in knives, camping and such. I don't, maybe next spring/summer I'll try again. :)

Yeah, she got a $2k engagement ring for xmas last year so I did my share part last year. This year we promised not to get each other anything, but I'll sneak this one in because even if women say they dont want anything......they will drop their bottom lip if she didnt get anything, ha.

Shes a 3rd degree black belt in Tangsodo(SP?) so shes familiar with knife fighting and such but she doesnt have any cool out door knives.

As for her wrap...I'll let her pick whatever color she wants...prolly will be black or lime green as shes mentioned earlier this year;)
