I guess I've been pretty lucky lately. I picked up a Case and a KaBar Peanut recently. Both used. Both set me back $15.

After finishing today's Honey-Do list I decided to run down to the local flea market just to browse. As proof of my intentions I only has a $20 on me. Not that I didn't want to spend more. It's because that's how much faith I have in that particular market. There is never anything there. If there is its way overpriced.

Today's find. A 4622 for $15. A monster of a folder at 5 1/4" closed. Here are some before & after shots.

I love the Imperial Frontier line with the powder horns. Great users and built like tanks.

Thanks for lookin'

Chris

Chris, is that bone, or white delrin? VERY nice pickup!

Thanks guys.

Thats Delrin black mamba. The Frontier line wasn't exactly a high end line. :p Similar in quality, materials and price as the Schrade Old Timers of the 70's and 80's.

Great find. For a user, that's fine quality in my book.

My favorite Imperial, mine is in black. I paid $15 for it too, in the box at a college town pawn shop. Good find!

Chris, I have so much fun doing this too. Isn't going around hunting for old knives a blast? I have been doing this for quite a spell and it never gets old. The first thrill is the hunt of coarse. Second, is the find and if you're lucky a little haggling and the purchase. Lastly, a bit of polish to reveal the true gem you have found. Its the most fun you can have with your clothes on these days if'n you ask me. :)

These days I've had to frequent garage sales and/or yard sales instead of flea markets because all of the good old fashion flea markets in my area have either gone out of business or have been bought out by corporations and have turned into "antique markets" with ridiculous pricing..

Anyways, Super Nice snag on that old IF Folding Hunter pattern with the powder-horn shield! She's a beauty. These older IF slippies are fantastic cutters too. I have several.. I have her slightly smaller sister in a large Stockman that I got in a yard sale some years back so dog on cheap I won't even speak it..

I keep going to flea markets, etc. searching for such treasures. Nice knives guys. Love those clean white handles and horns!

These are most of the Imperials I`ve managed to find in small stores and resale shops. The hunt for them is the fun part.

I would also add in the fact that they are bladed with Schrade's first rate high carbon steel !!!

Thanks Anthony.
I have a black one and that white ones twin sister. I'll round up my powder horn IF's for a photo when I can.

The hunt for them is the fun part.

You got that right JK. Like Deep Purple said, "Its not the kill. Its the thrill of the chase":D

Thanks again for the comments everyone.
