Hello all,

Firstly, great forums.. been doing a bit of googling on knives the past couple of days and BF have come up quite a bit and already gathered some good info.

Anyways, hoping you knowledgeable folks can give me a hand/recommend me some knives to check out, so without further delays below is a list of critera

i'm looking to buy ONE knife only, upto $200 AUD delivered to Aus.
Knife must be fairly easy to buy, e.g. i can get one off ebay or online store who will then be happy to mail to Aus.
Blade length of 6" and over, serrated or not is ok, single sided.
I'm pretty bad at sharpening so nothing too exotic with materials, something like aus8 or slightly better etc.
Full tang, fixed blade, comes with decent sheath.
Aesthetically pleasing :p
Intended usage: camping and survival, but mostly going to be sitting in my camping/sort of bug out bag.

Thanks in advance for help and advice.

P.s. As with most forums, i imagine questions like these appear often but there's always new products being released, then some get improved, or QC slips on some, hence my choice to start a new topic, cheers :)

Oh i forgot to mention, i had a sog seal before - nice knife but the handle was a bit big for my smaller hands (i'm only 5ft7", i think i got that right ? 170cm). Anyways, that one got lost/stolen. Just got a Gerber BG revised model knife to replace but then did some digging and found the steel is 7cr17mov argh, when everywhere advertises it as aus8a. No matter, it will make a fine beater.

ESEE 6!!! They're well-made, come with a great warranty, and are very practical. The Becker BK-7 is very good, too, as a less expensive option.

Maybe get a Spyderco Sharpmaker with the extra money? It makes sharpening pretty easy for the beginner and gives good results. Even now that I have an Edgepro, I've kept my Sharpmaker because of its better portability and versatility.

Becker BK9 - it's my goto large knife when hunting (which I do from about Sep - Feb every season)...

It's slightly smaller brother, the BK7 would also be a good choice - that's the one my son always chooses.

Becker BK7/9, ESEE 6 or Junglas (might be slightly out of range since we're talking AUD), KABAR USMC, Zero Tolerance 0170, Scrpayard 711, etc. The list goes on. Your choices are practically unlimited.

ESSE 6 or Doug Ritter Mk 2 Perserverance. Either of those knives will fit the bill more than adequately and are tough as nails and very reasonably priced. Good luck!! :adoration:
