I realize that "Three-Piece-Knives" don't get much attention on this Sub-Forum, however, I thought I would post this one anyway. There is a little short story located HERE about how this came together. If you have the time, take a look.

Great looking piece.....I've always been a big fan of the trailing-point kinda blades.....well done and your hand-rubbed finish looks like perfection. :)

Still need to make a sheath for that fighter I got from ya a few years ago.... ;)

Nice knife. What do you mean by "Three-Piece-Knives"? I'm not familiar with the term.

Nice story- I like how the knife turned out.

Same here...

The 3 piece knife is about the simplest knife made because it only has 3 pieces, the blade and 2 handle scales.
Just because it's an easy build doesn't mean it can't be very well done as this one is a fine example "simple beauty"

But what about the pins on the knife above? Or are the pins decorative, and the handles secured with epoxy? And even then, wouldn't the pin "inlays" on both sides count as four more parts?

Pins don't count. :)

Yes, sometimes "simplicity" is beautiful in itself. Very nice knife/sheath set!

isn't a knife with a guard and hidden tang also a 3 piece knife?:D

A couple of years ago, a well respected collector and member of this forum made a statement concerning "3-piece" knives. (blade and two handle slabs...... pins don't count). The gist of what he was saying is that collectors are not interested at all in this type knife. Perhaps he was speaking for himself. I really can't recall the exact wording, but I got the idea that "3-piece" knives kind of wasted bandwidth on this particular sub-forum.

Bruce mentioned that it is an easy build. It is very easy compared to some of the guards, ferrules, frame handles, etc., however, in order to pull it off nicely, you still have to do more work than you might think.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Quite.

Easy to build- maybe for you guys. As nice as all the fancy knives are there's something special about a nicely crafted, well executed knife a person could actually use without breaking the bank.

Thanks for posting it.
