I went to the range today and fired off 300 rounds Winchester 230 gr. FMJ. Brings my total round count to 1000 rounds. No problems at all, so far! Here is a picture of one of my targets (100 rounds) at 25 yards.

Each time that I work on these pistols and shoot them, I get more and more impressed! :D

rapid fire??? wow....hate to be the badguy in front of you.....

Ahh, good timing. I'm evaluating them for the PD as a potential Glock replacement for our 13-14 year old 22s and 23s. Also looking at one for personal ownership. Other than some finish issues, they seem to be getting high marks. Which size grip panel are you using?

I'm using the small panel. My P.D. also tested the M&Ps. They needed a replacement for our old 4506s and 4006s. Overall, the Glock 21SF and Glock 22 were chosen. Our test M&P 40 and 45s had a vague trigger reset. The test panel didn't like it becuase they wanted a gun that had a positive trigger reset.

Being a Glock lover, I was impressed enough with the M&Ps that I bought the M&P 45. I have worked over (trigger jobs and tuned) several M&Ps so far, and I really like the design. I think it is a great alternative to the Glock for duty use.

I found the small panel to work the best for me in my hands and yet, I have no issues with gripping a G21.

I will agree that the trigger reset was a major turn off in the beginning when I first handled them.

Knowing how small agencies and dollars work, I'd bet we'd take advantage of that $135 Glock trade-in program but for the same plus maybe G21SFs. Who knows. Chief remains a diehard Sig man from his first PD. But I think the M&P might agree with him. Local agency near us is liking their .40 M&Ps.

25 yards is a Looong way for a combat pistol, aint it?
I am impressed as hell, but I think ill stick to 7..

It's not that long and we train at that and 50 yards on occasion. That being said. Most handgun fights occur at distances from bad breath to just under 10 yards.

Nice work on those targets. I picked up a M&P .45 the last time I was at a gun shop. I really liked how it felt.

Nice shooting. :)

And yes, most engagement distances for pistol are going to be 3-7 yds (old range even had both marked with bright yellow line on pistol lanes so you could practice them), but never know when you might need to shoot farther. With my old EAA Witness, did work out to 50 yds, and was even reasonably accurate on the gongs out to 75 or 100. Wouldn't want to trust my life on the shooting, but definitely good enough to keep someone's head down. :)

COurse, hope I never have to use them at any distance.
